We are arriving to this fabulous place on Wednesday September 9th (next week) and would greatly appreciate some information and guidance. How is it there? Is everything open, are there many people around? etc.

Hello Johnny and welcome to the forum! Unfortunately I'm not there, but there are a few updates on the threads. People have been having great holidays and most places are open. I'm sure some will be along to give you updates. Hope you have a great holiday!

We have been here since 28th August and it’s pretty much business as usual. A couple of places not open but unless you regularly visited these places previously you wouldn’t know as so many open. Everyone pleased to see you. Everything closes at midnight but that works ok too.
Lots of people around and plenty things going on. Apart from wearing masks in shops and supermarkets it’s just like any other time we have been. They are trying really hard constantly sanitising tables etc to make you feel safe. Let’s hope Boris doesn’t do anything drastic. Enjoy your time here. We are here until 11th.

Not being able to access the forum the other day I did as Karen suggested and had a look at the Corfu forum. I was quite surprised to see this on penalties in Greece:-
The fines
At the same time, the fine for those who break the quarantine is heavier, since the offender will be required to pay 5,000 euros while there are severe penalties for violating the quarantine.
Offenders can face up to three years in prison in case of transmission to an indefinite number of people, and from 10 years to life in the event of death of one or more people.
Really? Do people travelling realise this? :o

We came home last Saturday and had a great holiday. Most bars and restaurants open on the main road sadly not the Athens Bar. Shops are very strict on the face mask rule and bars want you off the premises by 12 but most of us San Stef regulars arent really there for the night life. We had a great time and wish we hadnt cancelled our original trip for 2 weeks but it was nice to just have a week chillIng in the sun. You will love it :)
