Title: Next Year
Post by: Karen on November 27, 2018, 06:36:27 PM
So we have booked our holiday for next year and TUI have changed the flight from Stansted , from a Friday to a Monday and night flights!  Aaargh! Our first holiday there in 2004 was a night flight so we travelled to resort in the dark, wondered where we would end up!! Got to Stamatis, no one around, so the rep took us to our room.  What a lovely revelation when we woke up in the morning!!  Been going back ever since 8)

Flights booked as well and can't wait!

Sometimes get leg pulled about going back year after year and, I must admit, I did have little self doubts in my own mind about this summer again.

But as soon as you are there all the niggles disappear as there is definitely something about the place that is magic

Sun, sand, sea along with good food and wine might have something to do with it

Agree with you, Andrew. It's definitely like a second home to us and very chilled :)

We have been coming twice year since 1997 and as we now live in Wales flights from Cardiff are limited and never cheap.
We do occasionally come from Bristol but it is much further for us and adds almost £200 to the cost of the holiday.
Even Cardiff is 60 miles.

Next year there are to be Monday flights for a few weeks as well as Friday from Cardiff which is wonderful because the Friday flights are swamped by the Cruisers so you really need to book early.

I didn't twig about the Cruisers, on a Friday, but that is probably why the airport is so busy.  Hopefully our Monday night flight may mean the airport is not so busy. :)

That's what we hope too,and an extra flight a week from Cardiff will relieve the pressure I hope.

I suppose we will always be in the situation of not pleasing everyone.
It must make booking more difficult for the owners with guests wanting to book stays starting on different days of the week and there may well be odd 'empty' days.

Hi karen. I'm sorry to see that your flight has been changed to the mo day. It won't be the same when we arrive on the Friday. Ah well, at least we will see you and John. It's a long way off yet. But we can't wait.

Hi Paul, yes the day is not too bad but the night flights aren't so good.  So we shall be about on the Tuesday, but not too early, so no noise from your apartment please!!  Looking forward to seeing you and Ruth!

That doesn't sound too bad though my wife and I are getting a bit fed up with the very early flights but still like the early return. Life's a compromise I suppose.

I prefer to have a reasonable flight back home,I hate hanging about all day and arriving at midnight.
This will do nicely i think.

Well by "next year" I now mean this year. Anyway my news.

As we couldn't make San Stef last year due to a family wedding (bang in the middle of our original fortnight  >:( ) we've booked for a week in Sept. Never been in Sept before so looking forward to it.

I actually quite fancy September, I feel the weather would suit me  better, but we meet up with lots of friends, in July and we would miss seeing them :)

Love September. Weather can be just as good as the rest of Summer but with an odd storm or 2

The SS storms are so much more interesting than the ones we get at home.

I agree about the storms in September. One night a storm started whilst we were eating in the Little Prince-the rain started coming through the roof of the terrace so all the tables ended up squashed together to avoid the leaks and as no-one would leave (and get soaked) they brought out free drinks for all. Still a great memory...

I remember the road almost lifting in 2017 by Little Prince after a storm.
We were sitting in 2 Asteria as it began and mud and stones came poring down from the side of Tasty corner right past us.
