Title: Arianna's Cafe
Post by: John15 on March 30, 2016, 07:43:07 PM
Does anyone know of this café (it may be called Erianna's) supposedly on the headland near the small chapel. If so is it worth the walk?

A cafe is a loose description!!!
It's more like a shack that sells soft drinks and beer!!
Well worth a walk up the headland towards the little chapel then have a stop off there on the way back. Then go onto either Akrotiri or Gravia and have lunch and another beer!!
Great views.... take your camera

We already know of the Akrotiri from our last visit in 2013. This is well worth a visit - we walked up the hill opposite Summer Dreams just before sunset and got some brilliant photos of the sun setting behind the islands whilst enjoying a cold Mythos at the Akrotiri. I would like to walk to Arillas  and visit the Gravia on our return this year, is the path along the cliff top to Arillas still passable?

All 3 on the headland are very much worth the walk up the hill. You can also buy honey at Errianas. If you just look at my avatar photo you can just about make out the view

If you're lucky you may Erianna herself. She's a perky little girl with an English mother. It's not so much a cafe as "place" with great views and a lovely vegetable garden. In fact, it's totally eccentric and should definitely be on the itinerary.

Access over the top and down to Arrilas in recent years has been determined by Mother Nature, the going is good as you approach Gravia, at this point the descent to Arrilas can be trecherous, but passable with care, half way down, the beaten track twists and turns in order to avoid the part collapsed path at the cliff edge, sensible footwear essential, every time I use this route I always get a laugh at some half wit hobbling around in flip flops, but I still love her though but.

Love Arianna's. I remember buying some of their home-made olive oil soap there once. It contained bits of dried rosemary that came off and floated in the bath water looking quite sinister!

Eriannas is just the place to stop on the way back after the hot and sticky climb from Arillas. Ice cold Mythos and a fabulous view and a well earned rest! ;)

A shower up on the headland would be perfect, I have a quick 'wipe down' in the nice toilets in Akrotiri !

Toasted cheese sandwich served on pretty glass plates with a napkin and steak knife to cut it up together with a large hock glass of chilled red wine plus a view to die for - bliss. See you soon George
