Title: Tsaros paths
Post by: Jimbo on February 27, 2016, 04:17:57 PM
Braving the hill, we're staying st Tsaros in July.

Maybe those who have stayed there can answer this: it looks as though it's possible to get from the road that goes up between Nafsika and Kamini, above Angela, through some apartments to the road just above Tsaros. Anybody know?

Not sure about that,it might be possible but you'll probably have to cut across some rough land.Might  be advisable to check it out in daylight first rather than after enjoying the hospitality at Nafsica or Kamini.
I've found a pretty comprehensive map on San Stefano Travel-Corfu Map,worth having a look.

Great place to stay Jimbo!!

Thanassi and family will make you very welcome. Great pool and bar, usually some great characters knocking about.
Have a chat with Canadian David and also David and Edie who are always up there with their granddaughter Eleni

You will love taking your laptop up to the roof terrace and getting some inspiration!

Watched the link and seems the apartment in the video is the one above Vagellis' bungalows formerly known as "Vassillis up and down". Don't think there's any path between the two hills Jim.
You'll love Thanassis. a more warm and genuine bloke you couldn't wish to meet.

Jimbo,

You will greatly have to reduce your cigarettes, what with that hill.  Just cut down to 80 a day!   ;)

I will do my best.

If we leave the EU we will be back to tiny duty free amounts. It's nice to be able to bring back unlimited supplies of booze and fags. Never heard anybody mention this before.

Yikes! hadn't thought about that, I buy enough on my two Summer trips to last till the next year.
It will make a difference to Maria's takings as well.

There's also the small matter of passports! Will we all have to fork out another £85 for a non-EU passport?

Two good points. The problem is that highlighting such issues gets you branded as a "scaremonger" by the "send a gunboat" brigade.

Those of the 2.2 million ex-pats (migrants) living in the EU who have been there less than fifteen years and are not married to a local may well lose their residence rights. There are plenty of those on Corfu.

The EU ruled that phone companies could not charge outrageous rates for calls within the EU. Guess what will happen if we leave?

I know that these are, in the great scheme of things, relatively trivial issues, but I'm sure there are others. People right across Europe cannot understand our hostility towards what they regard as a common family. If we leave the atmosphere will not be kind. Legally, the EU could demand visas for entry, as could we. When I did business in Poland I had to queue for hours before every trip at the Polish Embassy. I don't fancy doing that to go to San Stef!
