Title: Akrotiri bar
Post by: John15 on July 02, 2013, 07:07:47 PM
We will be staying at the Rose Garden Studios from 19th July for 2 weeks this year, our first visit to Corfu.  I have been watching videos of the Akrotiri bar located on the headland and the views look spectacular.  Can anyone please let me know the best walking route to this bar.  Thanks.

We went up the track opposite Town Pizza. I was expecting to struggle a bit, as I've limited mobility, but found it easy enough.
Certainly worth it for the view and the Tuna Salad.
We came back down the road that exits at the juice bar, so straight into Summer Dream for a well earned Mythos!

Are the roads up to the headland lit on a night so that we can come back down after sunset?

I think the road we came down is, but the track up definitely wasn't!

We are staying at the Little Prince, also from 19th July, for two weeks. We had breakfast at Akrotiri last summer. Definitely the most expensive breakfast we´ve ever had in SS, but what a lovely place. We took the road starting next to the juice bar. Must try Akrotiri at sunset this time.

The road by the juice bar is the shortest - especially on a quad  :D

Walk on the Arillas road -passed the tennis court - take the first opening on the right and walk up (the tarmac road) and you're there ,It's on the left.

Hi Cassels. We are from Finland, so we are flying from Helsinki  :D Do you travel with children? I have my teenage sons travelling with me. My elder son (16 years) is maybe the most addicted SS fan in our family  :)

The word on the street is that yes they are all broken.  Whether they were damaged intentionally or by the weather is up to debate.

Had drinks there before but never anything to eat. The views are worth the effort of walking up there and will be on our agenda again.

Seeing as I started this topic I thought it only right to let you all know that we did venture up to the Akrotiri Bar via the road just past the Juice bar. What a climb! However, once we had got our breath back we were able to take in the magnificent views and watched the sunset with Mythos in hand.  Well worth the effort. As mentioned in an earlier post - straight into Summer Dream for another welcome Mythos on returning. The lighting is hit and miss with several broken lights but as we came back down shortly after sunset there was no problem.

Certainly worth the effort, the views are well worth it.
Go up past Shane's juice bar rather than the track by the Nafsika. The track by the Nafsika is far steeper.

Or walk up past the Perros. Bit longer but not as steep
