Title: Sun Beds
Post by: swedebasher on June 22, 2011, 12:41:29 PM
Now I see the sun beds are back, what is the price this year? Last year they were €7.50 for two beds and a brolly, or €5 for two beds. Bet they have shot up after the auction??

I was just about to ask the same question, lol!!
I have been looking at the webcam this morning and in the chat box someone has posted that they think the price is EU7.50 per bed.
Can any recent visitors confirm prices?
Many thanks
Lee

I hope not leemac, two beds and an umbrella would cost €22.50 a day or €157.50 a week, or €315 a fortnight - - - at that rate.
In fact at that rate - if you stay 2 weeks, cheaper to buy the beds and umbrella!

Last year it was €7.50 for the 2 beds and an umbrella, or 52.50 a week, which is plenty!!
Most pitches had around a hundred beds each, so two weeks peak, profits paid for the licence, then the rest was profit less taxes & costs like replacements and repairs.
which had to last them through the winter as well.
Most got by fairly well, but no one should price themselves out of business!

At that rate people will just lay on towels and buy a parasol from one of the shops or stay by the swimming pools

I'm sure that's a mistake and it's 7.5 for two. Those arriving tomorrow will no doubt advise!

Given the VAT increase, that's pretty generous!

Does anyone know who is actually running the sunbeds on the beach in the various different pitches???

I believe that Spiros and Donna have passed on it this year, I also heard that Costas had packed it up, so who is left?

Costas told me he was retiring, but when Irene at the Mistral rented some of his beds at the start of the season whilst the 'auction' was going on, he told her he will 'likely' be back??!!

What!!!!!! thats £130 a week - €266 a fortnight, I could get a cheap apartment for that!
That's both greedy and called pricing yourself out of business!

But dont you have to buy something from the bar to stay there?

If you stay in the hotel - all ok - last year they charged strangers €5 each which you could then spend in the pool bar.
This year I read the pool bar is closed, but waiter service available at pool-side, or go to the hotel for lunch.
