hey all
I have been hearing reports that the weather has been bad in corfu this season >:(, have any of you guys been there or are there and is this true?

Reading what various posters have put the weather has been a little bit mixed.

According to wife and daughter, it was windy today but they still got a tan...Raining in Leeds tho :(

A work colleague of mine has just returned from Crete and he said that the weather was iffy even that far south. Wind and thick cloud on 3 out of 7 days

One of my work colleagues left Teresa's on Monday after her first visit. Says the weather was iffy (wet & windy) for a couple of days then improved over the fortnight.
She says she will go again but not may. She was worried what the kids, 22 & 19, would think as SS is quiet- They love it. She is vegetarian and found the food brilliant throughout the resort eating twice at Paradise and Little Prince and 10 different places. Her husband enjoyed his first visit that much he wants to return in September. ....... Sound familiar?

i.all just return from two week holiday in the terresa the weather for the past fourteen days was a mixture of very cloudy in the morning and clearing by lunch time to very hot sunshine ,but the nights were very cold you still need a top coat to go out in the evening ,resort was not very busy the only place busy was the thomas bay every night ,meet zoe and roy in the resort ,the rate we got has risen to 1.17 to the pound ,prices on par of last year no cash machines working in san stef or arillas ony at avoites ,new restaurant opening on the top of san stef near the gravia bar and a small shed and i mean shed next to the little church on top dead cheap does coffee and beer ,and a loverly view of the sea and san stef with chairs and one sun bed ,must be seen well worth the walk to it over all a good holiday and we are returning in sep for hopefully a month at the quitetude apt .hope every one going next week a happy holiday .yammas mike . ;D :o ::) :-* :'( ;D

We seem to be having some strange world weather last few years with Corfu losing it's Guaranteed sunshine status!
I was starting to get concerned - but lets hope it's a glitch!
Any updates on the beach Gordon?

Weather was really settled all last week and hitting forecast temps of around thirty by Wed/Thurs. Mike at the Little Prince was saying temp could hit 40 by early next week!!! Tony I've posted a note about the beach under the golden beach heading.

just back after 2 weeks and the weather was great sun sun and more sun.the outher day the temp at the car hire place (next to the new bar 38) was showing 30 at 9 in the morning at 28 at 21.30. the girls did not use their cardies. and it was the first time there was no breeze to speak of the whole 2 weeks never had this in san steph before

The past 2 weeks have been hot, hot and humid have had a/c on most days and sometimes at nights too. Weather on TV says localised showers but that didnt happen today as forecasted on last nites TV in ag stef today althu storms forecasted for Monday but sure will all blow over and will return to warm and sunny again by Monday eve. Its been hazy sunshine 2day again far too hot and warm winds making it feel a bit cooler around 34c. Cardies no longer at mo needed for the evenings/late mornings........

The storm hit this morning around 08.30 its was very pretty lightening and large thunderclaps and a huge downpour. Good news it has blown over now and sunny with far more pleasant and comfortable temps, just right for a barbie.......

There was another good 'un Monday afternoon. My mate reports that it was throwing it down so hard that it came in their apartment at Acharavi and wet the bed. (that was his explanation anyway!!)

The weather was fine yesterday, but with a fairly chilly breeze. It's clear this morning and calm. The sea was fairly rough on Saturday, but is flattening out and might even warm up!

Can confirm it is high 30s occasionally 40s during the day with lows around 23/34 at night. This was from 19/7 ro 30/7. cheers

We have it extremely cloudy though the majority are grey ones. Keep getting the real black ones blowing from the NW but they are "luckily" dumping on someone else. The bad news for me is that the garden looks amazing after all the strenuous effort of the last few hours.

Just returned from 2 weeks and every day was glorious - first week a lovely breeze but definitely heating up over the last couple of days - scorchers - was speaking with Kamini bar and on Saturday just gone (14th) it was 45 degrees in the sun - very very hot and slightly more humid than we remember - air con was a delight in the night!!!

Yes it is still warm - got back yesterday (16th) - they were having a heatwave - very hot Saturday (46 in Corfu Town) and also Sunday and on Monday when it was very humid too. We had 10 days of glorious sunshine.

Lovely today, a bit cooler only around 32c with a breeze, boats went out - so not too windy at mo, but they do say there wil be a Mistral over the weekend again, still skies are blue and sun is out, beach looks good, wishing all this weeks arrivals a wonderful holiday........ 8)

We are hoping to do a boat trip this year Lesley, so fingers crossed, do you know what day the 2 island trip goes on?
Also, I was wondering what night(s) the Thomas Bay does it's Karaoke nights on if anyone knows?

The boat trips to the islands Erikousa / Othina go on a Friday and are something like euros 28 per person - booked thru SS Travel

Webcams yesterday were all sun. For reasonable weather forecasts go to www.accuweather.com - you can get a 14 day forecast there and I have found them to be quite accurate when I go out.

Hi All, I can tell you it was a very lovely weekend, sunny, bright and warm still in the evenings. The forecast for the winds didn't really happen either Saturday or Sunday, there were plenty of boats out for rent, the islands ferry's and trips where running and today Monday its again lovely, bright and sunny, no clouds either with practically no wind a slight breeze only. Temps at mo around 28c forecast is for 32c today. 8)

The weather on there is taken at Corfu Town area so I'm not to worried.

Well I'll be a ********** - I'm taking the wet weather with me!!
I still think there's a good chance of it clearing by then or just a partial rainy day - or it's the car!!!
- - - - still when I googled the weather in Corfu Town it's not so good, but in Agios Stefanos, it's less chance of rain,
Monday won't be a problem as just arrived late afternoon. Tuesday = worst day - Wed getting better - Thursday good again!
Oh! sod it - I'll get stuck into the Mythos!! LOL

Not sure what site's your've been on but can confirm a hot (35c) and lovely day once again today, Saturday, took boat out and yes a bit choppy further out to sea but SS beautiful just a lovely welcoming breeze. For tomorrow Sunday much of the same. They do say though towards end of next week around 3/4th Sept we may have storms but then so much can change overnight here as you know........Happy hols all who arrive this week coming have a wonderful time........

Locals are forecasting a fine day tomorrow, wind should drop!!

Wasps just starting to be a nuisance again when we were leaving but not as bad as in Agios Georgios

A few around this year, but generally if you don't react - they disappear after a quick sniff!!
Our friend Alan did get stung on the beach, because a wasp touched the back of his knee, while he was lying on his side reading.
His reaction was to bring his leg up - squashing the wasp in the folds of skin behind knee.
so it stung him there!!
Very little reaction - to the sting.
Every other wasp flew away after a sniff - one landed on the back of my head and I touched it - but luckily not stung!

We Know, it's the yellow and black striped Jumper that is the give-away, also you give a quick sniff and if they don't react - you disappear LOL!!

It's not the yellow and black striped jumper you've got to look out for, it's the sting in the tail!!

I think you could sting Don for a round though!!
