Anyone heading out ?, where and for how long ?. Looking at end of May for us, one week to begin with at Olympia 8).
-
Good thing about being a retired old fuddy-duddy is being able to go when you want and not have to book a year in advance, so we will wait and see. We too would look at the end of May to End of June, but would not rule out April. We will also look at September in particular if summer here is like last year. The heating went off 23rd and has just been fixed today, apart from the cost, it has made us keen to have some heat, even more so as some of the kids have been to Thailand and are now in Oz ???

Good Morning All, We are going out 2nd June, staying at Athina for 2 weeks. We stayed early May last couple of years but found the weather very poor ,( although it did save on AC) so trying a bit later this year 8)

Back for the first time in a number of years on 13th June staying at Fedra as per. It will be our 40th wedding anniversary when we're there. :)

We spent ours there too, lovely place and hosts.

A few more of us might be looking to go if you view the webcam here (https://www.sanstefanos.co.uk/webcam/live). A cool 18c there is a lot better than the freezing -1c here in Yorkshire. Our little close is an ice rink, impossible to walk on it and not so much fun driving. Poor lady across the way had an ambulance visit and it could not get her out of the close because someone got stuck in the snow!
-
Ha Ha, just opened a similar post in the Yammas Bar. 14 Sept for me and Mrs J our latest visit ever.

Despite now being child free we are stuck with schools hols and associated prices because wife works at a school. So we book independent and I hunt for cheapest flights.
Jet2 flights from East Mids is our preference but this year they were £600 more (for two of us) than Ryanair from East Mids so Ryanair it is.
Wife breaks up from school on Wednesday 23rd July and we fly out morning of Friday 25th to the amazing Fedra for two weeks. Can’t wait!

They were saying flights were a big factor in the inflation rate rises, but you have to say we have had low prices for a while now, so it hurts all the more having large increases. We've not been away for sometime now, out of choice. When we do travel it will be back to independent travel for us too. After doing this for years we are quite used to it and will pick the airline and airport where the flights suit us the best. We are quite happy to split the carrier and use Jet2 going and RyanAir on the return. No parking at airports for us either, so can and will go and come back using different airports. Although we live in Yorkshire, we've done Stansted that many times we are quite happy to look at it as an option too.

Hi Mary, good to see you on here, never stayed in SM, but enjoyed a few beverages at the bar, lovely pool area, and a fab central location.

Lovely time of year over there, sure it will be as superb as always. Forecast here at Accuweather (https://www.accuweather.com/en/gr/mathraki/2281320/may-weather/2281320?year=2025) is always a few degrees under, and often well under! Do let us all know what has changed as there are always a few.

After a tough 6 months, we decided that we wanted to have some time to spoil ourselves and recuperate. Di=ue to flight times, we've decided to have a couple of nights in Corfu town for the start of the break before coming over to SS. Looking at taking the bus over. That will be a first.

Back around same time as you Carl, staying at Olympia. Kosmos are a great base too, central, and close to the beach.
-
Sadly not for us. We've got a family wedding to attend. I think a longer San Stef break could be in the cards again tho, if our short break soon is great.
-

Have a great time, weather looking great!

Weather really good, sunny but can be windy. Last night, we went to Zorbas, had lamb shank, my lady had volcano chicken, both excellent, most places very busy, which is good to see. Today is a beach day, and possibly Mango for lunch.

Looking forward to my holiday 8 days and counting

I wonder if anybody currently in San Stefanos could tell me what the weather is currently, as the other half is worried about what to pack especially for the evenings.
Thanks
-
We fly out on Friday, first holiday for several years due to bad health. I guess we will have to pack clothes for all situations as we have not heard from anyone.

Hi John. Whilst they are not always spot-on the weather forecasts these days are much more reliable. Lesley (fromSS) a long time back said Mathraki forecast was the best for SS, so have a look at this Accuweather forecast (https://www.accuweather.com/en/gr/mathraki/2281320/september-weather/2281320) for an idea of the weather (it looks okay to me for the end of September). Whatever, I'm sure you will have a great time.
-
Sorry John never been this late but if it’s like early June then definitely a light jacket or cardigan or wrap in the evening. Enjoy 😎
-
Thank both appreciate it.
-
Home last week John, weather was hot during day time, and nights were getting cooler, i would recommend packing a long sleeve shirt or two, just in case, oh, and some mozzie repellant, as the buggers were out in force. Have a great trip .
-
Well I hope everyone is back now as it's looking rather wild over there (although nothing like as bad as here). Forecast is iffy and it looks like end of season.
