Not long now until the last bank holiday of the year. What is everybody doing? We are undecided whether to go to the Lake District with Sandra's mum as she has a static caravan there. The other option is a long weekend in Lincolnshire. Unfortunately only 20% of my section can be on leave at one time. As eight are "term time only " out of 22 that is School Holidays a non-starter. With only bank holiday Monday off we are pretty hamstrung.
How do you spend "Long Weekends?"
Of course there is the small matter of Sunderland at home on the 29th!!
-
Not doing much, Don, as saving pennie for hols !!!
Am going to my mates village on the Saturday, there is a raft race and things going on down in the village, and her local pub has a barbie and live music etc through the afternoon and into the evening, so prob sample a few beers knowing we have 2 days still off work !!!!!
Then, weather permitting, will prob be in garden with a good book for the rest of the weekend.

Bank Holiday Weekend we're going down to Leek in Staffs to visit friends we met in Skiathos over 10 years ago, we take turns to visit one another 3 or 4 times a year, and it's our turn to go down there, so I'm looking forward to that! :)
You're not a makkem supporter are you Don? ???
-
Well this time we will probably have a lovely walk in the village of SS and also on the lovely sandy beach. Then have a swim in a lovely pool and of course admire the views. In the evening a lovely meal and drinks in the bar and have a chat or 2 with anyone who will listen lol!!!!!!!!.
-
i think you win hands down

Golf, gardening,guitar,drinkin'...some of these depends on weather, it's only one day after all
-
Well I was hoping to receive an invite for:-
Golf, Gardening, Guitar, Drinking and possibly Nude Mud Wrestling with playboy bunnies!!
Unfortunately, no invite, firstly - - & although I have the bulk of the day to myself,
I actually have to go to work on the first of my 7 Night shifts.
At least I have Thus/Fri/Sat/Sun off before the B/Hol Monday - work my week of nights - and a week off afterwards!!
So - B/Hol Monday - the Drinking is definitely out - (we get random tests for alcohol and drugs), I never take drugs except what the GP thinks I need to stay semi-healthy, may do a touch of gardening, can't play guitar,
and unless the nude mud wrestling has the green light - looks like a quiet day for me!!
Come to think of it, maybe we could arrange a village nude mud wrestling contest in S S!!
I am sure that Bev & co. would be up for that!! LOL
-
theres a village charity day at Coity Castle but, the roads round here get choca at BH with the visiting wobblies that it aint worth the hassle..even for nude mud wrestling, so I'll just enjoy not being in my cage
-
I have never had the urge to see yours or anyone else's - Coity!
-
Random testing at work? Is it good to pass the Dope test? ::)
-
ALL THE TIME FOR YOu THEN DON
CHRIS
-
I have never had the urge to see yours or anyone else's - Coity!

Wasn't Coity Glasgow Rangers erstwhile centre forward?
-
We will be staying in our static caravan near Morecambe looking forward to flying to San Stef the following Friday for 2 weeks.Roll on the 4th September.
-
Kemo - not sure they encourage "Caravan Dwellers" in San Stefanos,
- - - - - - - - - except the Kantina on the beach!! LOL
So how do you manage from there then?, park the car by the Caravan and a Taxi to the Airport maybe?
It cost me about £100 to Park for 2 weeks in the Gatwick Long-Term car Park!
-
Hi Tonyco1 if push came to shove the Kantina would have to do or one of Spiros sunbeds. We will travel from home in Keighley to Leeds/Bradford airport and leave the car in a secure private car park 2 minutes away from airport. The cost is £58 for the fortnight inc.minibus transfer.
-
First few words gave me visions of you "Pushing and Shoving" the car to the airport. Isn't it hilly round there?
-
Your right Don it is hilly round here and if it came to pushing and shoving the car, I don't think I would make the airport never mind San Stef
-
Well done Kemo, why do you get ripped off so much at Gatwick for parking?
-
Don't care what my other half expects for the bank holiday weekend as my plan is to get the bedrooms and bathroom decorated. Is three days off long enough though! I'll have to get the whip out!
-
He will probably enjoy the whip Sandra lo!!!! ;)
-

-

Oh ...it's not for me to say ;)
-
We have a very good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-X :)
-
i think there could be 2 men in yellow tops in san stef
-
What?? - have Norwich got two fans then? Delia 'Lets be avin yew' must be well pleased. Saves me the job explaining why I do not go.
-
Well - I did try to go as well - logistically impossible at this time for us!
Don is there with Sandra to surprise Suela and Jules - old holiday and forum friends!!
The surprise did work and there is one yellow shirt walking around!!
For Zimmer: It is a Brazil Shirt he wears - not Norwich!! He supports Stoke!
The Yellow shirt will be the "Forum Shirt" or the Brazil world cup Shirt - his trademark!!
Bubbles - what the H*** - - - is one of the CB ??
Zoe, I hope you were not Riding a Donkey!! LOL
As for suggesting someone live there - I think living there - - is totally different to a holiday!
Suits some who love it and the quiet winters , like Bev and Ray for example,
- not others who need a busier place to live - and S S to chill out in whenever the mood takes!!
I love the place and could live there all summer - not sure about the winter though!!
If I had unlimited money - I may cruise the Caribbean in the winter!! come on Lotto!!

Yes - I knew it was Brazillian, I was being droll ::) You are allowed to say "hell" , it's not a naughty word ;) :)
CB - = "Chuckle Bros" yours and Don's new nickname mun ;) :)
sigh - it must be nice to go every few weeks though, "when the mood takes you"I think I could spend an extended winter stay in Cyprus as I cant stand our winters, ah well que sera uh?...the way the weather is anywhere would be better than here at the moment
-
Thank you Zimmer for highlighting the "CB" and yes Tcool is this new n/name more suitable than "pinky/pirky"? ;D 8) and I cant believe you conveniently didn't see that in Zimmers' text but worked out that we were jesting about you being here!!!!! selective or what!!! :) ???;D
-

Please do not thank Dr. Dork!! - - Or the one-off offender of San Stef may never go away!! LOL
Chuckle Bros - eh!! That was so - so - so ''funny'' I wet myself!! the really old jokes are the best!!
- & if only he knew his real nick-name!!! LOL
Bubbles - & it seems you are always blowing some!!
You seem to have a worse spell checker that Jules - and that is some going!! Pirky - - very good version of perky!!
-
Glad someone else is looking after my spellchecker whilst I am away lol!!!!!
-
We are going to market it - as a new form of the English Language!! Julesish!!
-
Tcool, it was for a good reason that I was anxious about not being able to use the sc facility here but now I am cool and happy with the human versions, you being the one. My only concern is you not being able to tell the difference between can't spell ??? and mistakes when us busy ladies are multi-tasking!!!! ;D,lol
-
It's a big myth about you ladies being able to multi-task.......unless you call talking and shopping multi-tasking haha :)
Me? I do synchronised drinking and falling over!! :)
-
Some people can dish it out but not take it back..to me to you
Ewe can spell cheque this again if you want there are know mistakes as I chequed before eye posted
-
Bubbles - it seems that we have been giving you a real easy time over your spelling in the past!!
But that's it now!!
Admit it you can't multi-task at all!! - especially thinking and typing!! LOL
So we have had a ''whip-round'' and now we can send you to the Jules school of English Grammer & spelling!!
Your first teacher will be Deborahh, Hendrix will be the examiner so keep him sweet!!
-
Hendrix.....how long did it take you to find that word-syn- in the Dic; and Tcool I bet you have a Dic/Thea beside you and look up every word before you write?????????!!!!! ;D, lol sorry only jokin, cos you crack me up and we like you Guys and adore your humour...."CB"? cos I have decided that you have to be "MAD", " :(" or " BAD" to think up the things you come out with :-\ :)lol
Hendrix, lying down is one thing but it is when you do it in those psychedelic(quick, quick leafing through the Dic)/ silky pjs that does it..... behave....you bad boys !!!!!!!:)))))
In conclusion, Dic/SC were invented for the very reason.. the whole world can't spell!!!! ::) don't you know that Tcool me dear??? lol
catch yous
-
"In conclusion, Dic/SC were invented for the very reason.. the whole world can't spell!!"
Bev - -you are correct - and have been on a mission to prove that in every post - - -"catch YOUS" - you are funny!!! LOL
-
Bev, not so much info on the pjs!! :)
Anyways, I always behave but it's usually (always) prefixed by MIS :)
Had a good Bank Holiday which almost made up for not being in San Stef. But no Bev here!!! :(
-
Hendrix - heard that not only did you wear some dodgy PJ's,
but according to the S S hotline (Bev - I suspect) - that you went commando as well!!
(Bev has an eye for these things!!).
PS.
Don't forget we have Glen to inform on you as well - LOL !!!
-
hendrix when are you going next we have to get someone to take a pic :o
-
Hi Zoe, would love to go again this year but very unlikely to happen. Looking at going for the first 3 weeks in June 2010. A long way away :(
Anyways, no photos, I drain all the power from the batteries!! Ask Gwen heehee!! :)
-
Hendrix - S S needs you back!! LOL
We are hoping to go end of June next year as well - must look you up!!
The crazy gang can get a little more crazy then!!
-
we are thinking of the first 2 weeks in june
-
Zoe, for sure we'll find each other next year if we're in San Stef at the same time!! Haha :)
-
all we need to look for this time is a man in his pjs ;)
-
Then he can really rock'n'roll Zoe!! LOL
-
Good Morning Vietnam !!!!
