Hi all. Been meaning to write this update for a few months now but kept putting it off as its still very frustrating/disappointing.
Back in November last year we had to cancel our yearly 2 week stay at the Fedra due to a conflict of money interest. We had water coming into the garage so I replaced the roof which wasn't cheap but it was manageable. This unfortunately hasn't solved the problem which meant house roof repairs. As a public servant with a 2 year pay-freeze plus 3 years below inflation pay rises in the last 5 years things are tight and one thing had to go........the holiday or the roof. So a no brainer in the end.
For my sanity I should stop looking at this forum but the draws too strong. Continuing to do so is a form of mental self-harm.
Anyway hope to get back there next year especially as we've just received a 0.5% pay rise. :-\

Tredegar Boy, I'm a good believer in Karma. You sound like an ok bloke to me so keep positive. Something WILL turn up.
-
Aw that sucks, I feel for you. Maybe you could look out for a cheapie package deal? Good luck
-
Sorry we won't see you and M again at Fedra Mare, maybe next year?
-
Fedra Mare is lovely I know but there other places to stay that are maybe not so exclusive or pricey.Much as it goes against the grain to say it but Thomsons are offering some cheap deals just now e.g. a week in May at Tsaros for around £186.
-
That's very interesting Dupnica. Been independent for the last 10 years so never look at a package deal. I'll have a chat with my wife and see if there's something doable in Sept. Not May I know but I can't do May because of other commitments. We'll have to balance the benefits and delights of going with not staying at the Fedra.......our home from home. Wouldn't feel right but the need is great.

Just look at anywhere else as somewhere to sleep and get changed. At least you would still be in SS. Hope you get sorted and of course your roof
-
To be honest dont realy see the need to pay a fortune.after all you only sleep in your accomodation.for the rest your out and about useing other peoples amenities......so long as it clean and comfortable its good for us..
-
We were at the Fedra last year the same time as you, know how much you love it there as do we. As Dupnica says there are some great deals with Thomsons if you drop lucky. We've just booked a week at the Nafsika in May for £232 each, less than £70 per night for the two of us half board, incredible value.

an absolute bargain Middy

Thats a great deal where are you flying from middy?

Flying from Manchester Carl, however just checked and its now £398 each so feeling quite pleased we booked when we did. That's Thomsons for you.

I am paying just €230 for one week in my self catering villa. 1st week of June including AirCon. The owners are the owners of Sugar & Spice, in the old part of the village. They have 2 independent villas, my little one for 2/3 people and the one next door for 4/6.
I hope you can find cheap flights later in the year :)
