Outside. Three plants in a trough against a six-foot wall.  We didn't think many were going to redden, and were about to prepare to make green tomato chutney. I think they must have heard and felt ashamed!

Yes, we had nearly given up on them and then in the last week or so we had lots going red!  Don't think it would have happened tho' if we hadn't had this last burst of sunny days! It is a bit of fun tho! We, like you so better on the runner beans! We scatter them round our friends! Must try blueberries.  ;)

Thought of a solution for you late night /early morning drinkers/socialisers! Get up earlier, eat earlier and start socialising earlier and go to bed earlier!! ;D :D

There have always been cars on the beach and they pose no problem at all. We go every day to that end of the beach and you don't see them apart from when you are walking past.  As TB says there is nowhere in the village to park and all the roads are narrow and have to cater for deliveries, the lorries taking away the seaweed, boats attached to cars going to the harbour etc. It is a huge beach so there is plenty of room. At weekends locals come to the beach to enjoy it! It is not our beach, it is not our country, we all love the place so can we not let the local people look after their beach! Sorry, but I don't think it is up to us to judge.

Way off topic!! However I'm going to be just as off topic as I need to agree to the sweetness of Jim in all ways 'cos  I definitely need my chocolate digestive supply!  Hope to see the two of you next year Karen - it's 17 degrees here and cloudy, sadly. I'm glad people are still keeping this forum going. I don't contribute much but enjoy keeping up to date with everything. So keep it coming, it would be boring if we all agreed on everything, and we certainly don't   :o- apart, of course from our universal love of Aghios Stephanos - which is why we're all here in the first place.  :D

Yes it was scary arriving at kalamata! The air was still full of falling ash and small fires kept popping up by the side of the road. The devastation was dreadful. Also the amazing luck as the fires missed one building or area of land when all those nearby were burnt. We've never had such a quiet coach journey across from Kalamata to Tolon. We'll never forget it.

The old view used to show a bit more of the pool and I agree it was a bit better when you could see more pool.

Also we were taught that the double gammas in Agglia can be pronounced more like anglia! It's all very complicated - possibly regional??

As I understand it, it's not "u" on its own that sounds like an f or v, it does sound like an "u" as pronounced in the north of England. It only sounds like f or v when precede by an e or a u, as in Epidaurus and or eugenia which is pronounces evyenniaa. I think. Anyway it's what I was taught in the Greek classes I went to!

Yes, Roman letters Nau... doesn't sound great in English for food! Helped a lot when I was learning some Greek to know that what looks like "au" to us is sounded as "af" or sometimes "av" in Greek.  Helps with a lopt of other Greek words when you know that! Can't wait to get there! Not long now.

Thanks for the update Jackie. Very wet here today but a bit warmer thank goodness. Just longing for some hot weather!  It's always interesting to see how the beach changes over the year. But could be a long time before it gets back to what it was a few years back. x

Jim and are are hoping he'll be well enough to be back again in our second home this year!  Only one visit last year as had to cancel our late September visit - we were so sad! Looking forward to some warm weather. Beautiful today but so cold and meant to be getting colder over the next few days.  Glad to see people still look at the forum. I agree, I prefer it to Facebook. Longing to see everyone again.
