We have a typical teenage son, the fact that he is quite keen to return to SS suggest it holds something for this age group also. Most bars have free wi fi and decent music across the generations is available in various bars.Old fashioned darts, quizzes and pool tables are dotted around. Nothing in excess, more opportunities just to relax talk and go with the flow. I honestly believe it's sometimes a relief for teens to be able to step back from the pressures of peer groups in the club and bar street resorts. Everyone needs to slow down from time to time.

Sounds good fun Lesley, especially the cakes bit! Not allowed cakes due to the pre San Stef diet, you can have mine!

Where to stay / Re: Barras

We were last there in 2011, no hair dryers back then, safety deposit boxes were  in the main bar / reception area, this did not allow 24 hr access, so if you are heading off on an early trip best plan ahead. Debbie put a full review on trip advisor which covered all the usual points and tips. A well cared for hotel, which we found to be great value. Enjoy your holiday.

Great effort by all concerned, well done in pulling this together Jimbo.
Just curious as to how many stickers you have arranged ? I would struggle to predict the number of forum members that may visit over the season , couple of hundred maybe? A few stickers per guest? We will certainly give it a go, have a drink or two at the Nafsika and leave a drink for you behind the bar by way of thanks. Cheers.

I notice on the Arillas website/forum (sister is heading to corfu for the first time in years and I was looking for info for her) that there is a posting board for taxi sharing. Visitors post flight arrival times etc and link up with others on the same flight or arriving at similar times and share the cost. I've never noticed that on this forum and wondered whether it had ever been tried??  Mrs Sellsy x

Well done Jimbo, cracking idea, these may help strike up a few holiday conversations that may not have occurred otherwise. May I ask what size they are?

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: The Chinese! !!!!
« on: April 17, 2014, 05:46:01 PM »
Perhaps we have a more varied palate these days ,( given the food and restaurants available in the multi cultural UK) Holidays are about enjoying oneself, treats and great food, for me a bit of variety would strengthen the village appeal. Would I be correct in thinking the village caters for the British more than any other nationality? Not suggesting this is ,in any way, a good thing when on holiday, quite the opposite .However 'Full  English Breakfast' boards abound, now there's a treat from time to time!

They sure do Debra, but what about the weather? Also Not sure how long I would last swimming out there! On a slightly more serious note I really do wonder what non Greek taverna style restaurant would have the best chance of survival in San Stef? Italian / pizza - safest? Chinese - not sure whether this is opening again. Ozzie Oils seems to manage well with a slight fusion approach . Just feel two weeks is quite a time to eat only Greek , appreciate it's why we go- to be part of all things Greek, but variety is the spice of life. Is there room for a couple of alternatives?   Or would we see the floodgates open to Sidari style fast food outlets? On a related note I also wonder how some of the less popular eateries manage to keep going?
