I thought I had read on a previous thread something about check in allowances and the charges made at Corfu on the return journey. Does anyone who has been had any charges for overweight luggage ? I seem to remember the comments made were that they were very strict about this.
-
hi kemo, the excess baggage charge is 11euro per kilo, i was well under my allowance but i did hear of 1 or 2 people having to pay.
-
we were under but the line was a very long one to pay excess charge no one got away with it
-
Always take fishing scales and make sure we're under weight!
-
Thanks for the replies we will have to make sure we are under our 20 kilos
-
what about the baggage though don
-
Chris - Don's underpants weigh 20Kg on their own - he's got no chance!! LOL

Kemo - all the airlines have started this now - to catch out people who buy stuff to take home!!
Really strict - I bought digital scales - (now on special offer), and took them with me so both our cases were balanced out,
especially for the return as some airlines will not allow a shared total weight - it's done on individual cases!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Balanzza-Luggage-Suitcase-Weigh-Scale/dp/B0013PVQS6 = £13.99
Add to this the new maximum european weight of 23Kg for baggage handlers and you can see the problems ahead!
We got caught for £36 last year on the return journey with Thomas Cook, (Dalaman Airport)
they also issued receipts from a standard receipt book at the airport - so obviously going in the back pocket!
No wonder they were so keen!
-
We came back in July and one of our courses was less than a kilo over and they never said anything. Maybe they only charge once you get to 21kilos.
-
Thanks Tonyco1 I shall have a look into buying some scales. A small price to pay when you look at the charges for excess weight.

I went through Corfu Airport on Monday and the excess baggage charge was 12 euro per Kilo overweight >:(
-
We were travelling through Dalaman last year with our friends and they got charged £36.00, so we have invested in some digital scales also! :o
-
We are recently back from Zante and were 5 kilos over, they wanted to charge us 50 Euros! Stuff that! we transferred a bit to our hand luggage, left some old beach towels and a load of coathangers and were about a kilo over so they let us off. Was gutted about my coathangers - you can never have too many. Was happy to leave the towels - less washing for me when we got home!!
Did notice a lot of other people paying though!
-
Colin, me old sweet, are you the Colin from the Colin n Mark, the Colin my dance partner? If so can't see why you had excess when you only had your pyjamas or did you stock up on booze to last until your next visit? lol ;D. Quiet without you but Mark is now in for some serious "partying" lol
See ya
Bevie

I don't think I'm 'your' Colin....me old sweet ;)

Call me Mr Thickie if you want, but don't these scales actually weight anything if you're taking them with you in the suitcase or are they so light their actual weight is less than a kilo, for example?
-
Always put them in our hand luggage. Then they technically weigh nothing !! 8)
-
Hand luggage??!! That went out with the Romans!!

Hand luggage??!! That went out with the Romans!!
Ok ! The wifes handbag then!
-
Bristol Boy, the Balanzza scales are V/lightweight and well worth taking - trust me on this one!!
They saved me a fortune!! I saw some people getting ripped apart money wise because they didn't check.
-
Well Colin, what a shame, my loss but what the difference between two Colins anyway? suppose in this case we could say "The shirts"?lol
Look forward to meeting you and family next time, if we have not already met, a lot of people do pop into the shop, so often I/we know people without knowing we do.
So take care
Yamas

Bev - I have never seen anyone in your shop except me!!
What's going on!! LOL
-
Evedently, you are all we need cock, cos look where we are now. Yes you put us on the MAP so to speak; upwards and onwards from now on...but seriously I think you have the wrong shop and with your wild imagination, perhaps you thought you had crept into ANNE SUMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????? lol ;) ;) ;) 8)
-
When you say all you need is Cock... Do you want one crowing in the morning as day breaks? Or, one that crows all day? Really I'd like a mute one ::)
-
Bev - you get worse!! LOL - - - Doesn't Ray mind? Does he know just how wild you are!! LOL
Anyway - as you wish!!
"Have Cock(eral) - will Travel" will be on my business card!!
Talking of Anne Summers, I did happen to notice the rather Racy Clothing you also sell in your shop!
Folks - check out the range!!
I was rather intrigued with the soft "camel-leather" studded thongs for the girls,
especially as you were modelling one at the time, that combined with the thigh-high boots and long spiky heels,
certainly grabbed the attention!! I noticed that your line of "rabbits" were flying off the shelf,
with many mature ladies buying them as "hand-mixers" for their cake making ventures!!
Yes - the shop is certainly "buzzing" these days!! LOL
I can't wait for my next visit - and of course must visit Holistica's next door as well - always need some essential oils!!

A digital weighing thingy ma jig is on sale in Poundstretcher half price at £9.99. It only weighs about 350 grammes itself so very handy to take on hols with you
-
Thats stretching the £ if it is £9.99 !!!!!
Bought one at the weekend
-
We bought one as well just for the added knowledge that we would not go over the weight limit. The bathroom scales were pretty close but hopefully these will be accurate.
-
got one for last sep best thing ever as they are so money grabing at the airport so no more making roy stand on the bathroom scales before we go on holiday
-
They fit easily into the pocket on my backpack!
-
The one's I bought cost £17.99 and are very accurate!
The pound shop one may not be able to spell it correctly,
(wait a minute - perfect choice - if anyone can understand it!! - - - LOL).
-
Morrisons are selling digital scales at £4.99.
-
the shop called the works have them in at 2.99 we bought a set and tried them out thay worked okay light enough to take them on holidays took them up to 20 kilos no problems good value for money.
-
Sounds like Hong-Kong-Fuey scales to me - but hey! If you are happy!!
I paid more and purchased my BALANZZA travel scales. They are very robust, 100% accurate - tested!
Lightweight and will last for many years.
-
The ones we bought should have been £20.00 so I hope they are accurate.
