Beachcombers is always nice.
You may not get candlelight (although you could always ask) but you will be able to watch the sunset over the sea.
You will probably have to book a day or two in advance dependent on what time of season you are going.
-
I agree the Beachcomber, especially if the sun is about to set, you wont need romantic candles! And the food is excellent.
-
I agree Beachcomber with the sun setting is great very romantic too
-
We've used Beachcomber a couple of times for our anniversary meal and its fitted the bill very well!
-
I'll fourth that! Nice setting for a special meal and I'm pretty sure Sue has candles on the table, most of the restaurants have candles or little
lamps on the tables mainly to discourage the pesky mosquitoes.
-
The one downside of The Beachcomber is that, from memory, they don't offer Greek food.
-
We ate Greek in Delfino Blu - the staff were simply amazing and it was a very special night - and 5 courses for 22 euros

Everyone's opinion may well be different, personal tastes etc. my opinion is below - as it's one of my favourite restaurants.
The Beachcomber is the nicest for a romantic meal - it's a Bistro type menu which is a little different and a change from the other establishments, whose menu's are similar.
There is nothing wrong with taking a break from traditional Greeek food when it's such good quality with decent wine on offer to compliment it.
This is not a menu that you will find in every high street back home, so a nice experience.
Also the food is brilliant, courtesy of Nikki the chef, the setting fantastic and dining al-fresco while the sun sets over the island out to sea is truly beautiful and a great photo opportunity.
Lovely modern place with nice toilets and washroom, topped off with great friendly service from Sue, and terrific ambience.

Beachcomber or Romanza (if you can be bothered with the hill) both offer spectacular views at sunset.
I know the guys at the Romanza will make a fuss of you if you let them know you are coming for a special meal.
They made our wedding ann meal very special

Tasty Corner! ;)
-
Rod - you old romantic you!
-
Cheers Debs. Less of the old eh?

Beachcomber for the reasons Tonyco said

The Beachcomber would be very high on our list, particularly for an Anniversary and especially on the evenings that Danny Devito plays the part of the bossman 'Mafioso Makis'.
What a wonderful setting and particularly clean establishment.A credit to both Sue and Danny.

It's a nice eating experience there... trouble is... there's not really a place you would call bad.... so it's a tough call....
but for that special evening - - - it ticks the boxes...
-
we had anniversary meal at beachcomber last year and was very nice . Delfino is stunning ,but make sure its not windy , been a few times and when its windy its not too enjoyable . otherwise the place and staff are great.

Having our 10th Wedding Anniversary dinner this evening at Beachcombers and looks like as wind has dropped we will be out on the terrace over looking the beach and watching the sunset as it drops behind the islands into the sea......
-
Have a lovely evening Lesley.
We arrive next friday and it is our wedding anniversary on the saturday. We are also going to the Beachcombers for our anniversary meal. Will i need to book? And if so will i be able to that during the day?
Thanks.

Have a lovely meal Lesley. It was really nice down there today. We're hoping to book for Sunday night for our annual visit. Menu looks as good as ever, enjoy!
-
Its was wonderful thank you for your kind wishes.
To book you can always email Sue on info@beachcombersbistro.com or pop her a post of the Beachcombers facebook page.

It's a personal preference thing isn't it? Beachcomber is too much like home for me and if anything too smart. (Don't shoot me now). My romantic meal would still be overlooking the beach and the sunset but would be in Mistral eating Mama's giant prawns grilled and delivered making 2 hearts. Followed by one of her delicious desserts. Much more rustic but more to my taste. Hey ho we are all different and what's romantic for one doesn't suit another.
-
Got to agree about The Beachcomber, although Mrs Wasp likes it. The meals are not so Greek, they don't do glasses or carafe's of wine and they don't take cards.
-
Me and Mrs Tenbeech both love Olympia but must agree the location is not the best Now if you could move Olympia to the location of The Waves or Beachcomber that would be very special.
-
We've just got back from our meal this evening. If it's romantic you're looking for, try Delfino Blu!
Very friendly, attentive staff, wonderful food and a view to die for.
It was our first visit, but it won't be our last!
-
I agree IrisG - Delfino Blu truly fab

We visited Beachcomber twice during our stay in June and each time I was able to buy a single glass of wine with my meal.

Must have changed since 2012

I agree IrisG - Delfino Blu truly fab
we had a look around the define blu it looks fab with a great meal seating area but since 24 June it's been to windy and cold to take a chance on a meal. I am sure in the coming days it will superb

We were very fortunate to be staying at Delfino Blu for our honeymoon from 9-20 June. Staff and service are excellent. 5 course evening meal - soup, starter (3 choices), salad, main (3 choices), dessert (3 or 4 choices). Chef is trying to do local dishes every night. Not cheap by SS standards at €25 + wine, but you do get a lovely meal, superb service and a great setting - when its not windy!
