Out and About / arrived yesterday
« on: May 20, 2013, 12:08:39 AM »
We arrived yesterday(Saturday) so far had lunch in waves and dinner at little prince then today lunch in mistral and dinner at zorbas.first auction for Sun beds 26th May (quite late) so in the mean time restaurants putting their own out. Got the impression impressiontalking to them they r pretty fed up the weather has been so nice yet people not using the beach cos of no beds. So far a handful outside manthos, 20 or so outside mistrial, similar outside waves. Haven't walked along the beach but but looks to be a row in front of Athena and then mango. Lovely weather very warm but nice breeze from inland though too strong for umbrellas. Prices pretty much as last year. Little prince seems the busiest. Fireflies evident oh yes and my granddaughter won the Eurovision sweep!

Where to stay / Re: Anatoli
« on: March 18, 2013, 07:27:53 PM »
we have always stayed at Anatoli and have always been very satisfied. It's basic but very clean and we have no inclination to go elsewhere. We were last there in May last year, should also have been September but I was diagnosed with cancer mid summer and needed surgery. We are going again for 3 weeks in May and a further 3 weeks in September. Can't wait. I'm sure you will love it there and will be made very welcome.

cigarettes brought into the uk must be for your own consumption or a gift, they must not be for resale, the guideline is 800 cigarettes, more and they would not be classed for your consumption and confiscated. The person was most likely bringing in a large quantity. We understand this is something customs are clamping down on due to people abusing the free allowance purely for resale purposes.

I would think it probably because quad bikes go of road so can be catagorised an extreme sport or whatever term they use.

Chrissie, another good thing about Anatoli  Aps is that they are pretty flexible on changeover days, they are not set in stone

Getting on a bit now, (Crikey that makes me sound ancient) my husband and I have discussed what we would do regarding holidays if and when we find ourselves on our own. if I should find myself on my own I wouldn't hesitate to return to Anatoli Apartments run by Michali and he agrees. It's in the old part of the village opposite Manthos Taverna and is handy for both Tavernas and the beach with hardly any walking involved, which would be a plus for me coming back at night after a meal.  I know many single people particuarly women feel totally safe here and return each year. Katie his wife will arrange a taxi for you so you don't have to worry about transfers. All his apartments have views over the beach with balconies perfect for just sitting and relaxing on.

if the insurance you get with the bike is only 3rd party how would you fare if you were injured in an accident? I'm thinking about how holiday insurance covers you for the bare minimum and manage to duck out of paying for anything out of the ordinary unless you stipulated prior to leaving what you intend to do and pay an exorbitant excess. I've often wondered seeing people driving around on quad bikes if they are fully covered by insurance.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Chinese or Greek ?
« on: June 15, 2012, 05:17:46 PM »
maybe I'm mistaken. When we first went to ss 10 or 12 years ago there appeared to be what looked like an abandoned chinese. I remember red chinese type lanterns etc on tables and at the windows. On the beach road just past the supermarket. If it wasn't or hadn't been a chinese anyone know what it was? It certainly wasn't open then if had been.

Myself I prefer to eat locally. I can get chinese at home but there are no Greek restaurants near me. Does anyone remember the chinese that used to be on the beach road next or near to the supermarket?
