Information and help please / Re: prepaid MasterCard
« on: August 04, 2011, 12:38:23 PM »
Hi all. The mastercard pre-paid cards seem to be accepted anywhere that would ordinarily accept credit cards. You can also use the card to book trips etc when paying by card. You may incur a 2% charge for using the card in some venues. We have discussed this topic previously under the heading Travel Mastercard so you may wish to see what advise was given within that discussion.

You are correct Tonyco1, San Stefano Travel produced a local paper with information about the history of San Stefanos, local people including Sam and the story of an English couple who met, married and now live in San Stef, the history of the olive trees etc. Its not an advertising paper with where to eat etc, it's more of an informative document so that people can learn more about the area and Corfu in general.

Information and help please / Re: Travel Mastercard
« on: July 16, 2011, 07:34:30 PM »
Hi all. Jimbo is correct, the cards are accepted in San Stefano Travel as a means of paying for trips etc. You cannot use the card to exchange money though (whether you can use it at an ATM I'm not sure) and there is a charge of 2% for using it. With regards to using the cards in restaurants I'm not sure but if they brandish the Mastercard logo i don't see why there would be a problem. If anyone visiting San Stef at the moment can enlighten that part of the scenario I think it would be helpful to many as more and more guests are asking about the pre paid cards.

Failing those two options, the Theodosia apartments are only a short 5min walk away from the Olga apartments at most. And you are correct Jaxbubbles, neither Theodosia nor Sunset have a private pool but your sister would be welcome to use the swimming pool at the Olga I'm sure. There are also many other swimming pools in San Stefanos that are open to non-resident guests.

It will be available from many outlets all over the village including San Stefano Travel. It includes an abundance of information including the history of the olive trees, about San Stefanos, a traditional Greek recipe and some stories about local people and as Jimbo mentioned, a couple who met, married and moved to San Stefanos. I'll be sure to keep you a copy Jules T.

A trend thats becoming more and more popular with holiday makers visiting San Stefanos is to book a private taxi transfer to meet you at the airport and transport you straight to your accommodation cutting out any unwanted stops on the way. It's a lot easier and you arrive at your holiday destination a lot sooner than the transfer coach, sometimes halfing the length of the journey. Here is the link for more information.

There is a selection of properties available through San Stefano Travel that can accommodate larger groups. Here is the link and to enquire about any of the properties, follow the instructions on the web site. I hope this helps!

Hi all. Just to let you know that the web cam is not working at the moment due to a recent storm. We have plans to move the web cam to an alternative position that would allow us easier access so that if and when something does go wrong we will be able to resolve the issue a lot quicker. Also, the web site is having a slight make-over at the moment so things may not be in their usual place. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience to anyone, if it's any consolation, it's a lovely sunny day here in San Stef today!
