We're newbies too. We're going for the 1st time on 19th August to the Tereza.
Can't wait and really excited. I keep going onto the virtual map of the village and having a look around.
I'll know it like the back of my hand when we get there. lol

You're right waspman.
It's not standard now but I've checked my paperwork and I've definately got 20kg.
The price has also gone up since we booked.
We paid £1307.99 for 2 weeks on 19/8/11 leaving Gatwick at 6.40am. We've also booked seats with extra leg room.
If we were to book it today it would be £1,430.
Glad we booked early now!!!

We're off to Teresa's in August with Thomson for the 1st time. We don't usually do our own thing for hols cos we're always worried that if the airline crashes or similar that we'll be left without any comeback.
It'll be a shame if we really like it there that we would have to risk doing it ourselves next year.
San Stefanos looks likes the place that would be perfect for us and I love the view from Teresa's.
Can we take out special insurances if we do it ourselves? I'm sure we probably can but we've just never had to do it yet.

We've just booked a fortnight in the Tereza.
We were looking at the Nafsica at first, but didn't want to go half board as we love trying different tavernas etc.
The reviews for the Tereza looked good so it's booked!
We're going on the 19th of August and I'm excited already. SS looks absolutely beautiful and we love the quieter, friendly
areas of the Greek islands. We've been to several islands but we've never been to Corfu. I like the Ionians and it's a
shorter flight than a lot of them too. I'm not a keen flyer. We went to Kos this year staying at a 5* hotel for our 25th anniversary.
It was wonderful but we really missed the Greekness if you know what I mean!
So looking forward to reading what everyone has to say about the area  on here.

Hi Jard, we're going to Marmari. For the 1st year ever to a 5* hotel, Palazzo del Mare,. Usually we go to small and friendly hotels or apartments but as it's our silver wedding anniversary we thought we'd try a special hotel. We've stayed in Kefalos twice before, once 24 yrs ago when it was very quiet, and the 2nd time, 12 yrs ago, when it had got a lot busier. Marmari looks quiet so hopefully we'll enjoy it.

Hi Debra, I'm really looking forward to trying the Nafsica, it really is our sort of place.San Stefanos looks beautiful.

Thanks everyone for your replies. You were all very prompt. You obviously adore San Stefanos. It shows in all your posts.
I'm really looking forward to booking there next year. We hope to travel around August 14th,I'll let you all know when We've booked.
We're off to Kos this year for our 25th wedding anniversary and as this was where we had our 1st holiday as a married couple we thought we'd return there.
I prefer the Ionians though as they're so beautiful and it's not so long on the plane!
I'm going to read everything I can now about San Stefanos.
Thanks
Denise

Hoping to go to the Nafsica next year. It looks like our type of place.
We've not been to Corfu before. We've been to most of the other Ionian islands and so far like Zakynthos
the best. We've been wanting to try Corfu for a while but needed to find the right area and the right hotel.
San Stefanos looks wonderful and the Nafsica looks like the friendly, family hotel we like.
