Title: Vegetarian food
Post by: lilly on June 18, 2010, 05:00:21 PM
Can anyone recommend Greek Vegetarian dishes. I do enjoy salad but it is always nice to have a change. I remember at the Athina 2008 one of the vegetarian options was squid, I did explain that true vegetarians do not eat fish/seafood and I must admit they were very helpful after that in providing me with some lovely meals.
Any suggestions for starters and mains will be welcome.

A work friend of mine came back from San Stef 2 weeks ago. She is a strict vegetarian and was totally taken aback by the variety of food that she could eat. She reckons it is the best resort that she has ever been to for eating out. She ate at 12 different places in the two weeks.

You will find most resturants will cater for vegetarian meals as a lot of the traditional Greek food is made from home grown veg.  At the moment there is plentiful courgettes, aubergines and peppers locally grown along with the succulent toms, cues and herbs in resort. I am sure you find plenty of choice in San Stef.  Have a wonderful holiday.

I agree that this one of the best resorts i have been to for vegetarian food. Myself and my 2 sons are vegetarian and we had plenty to choose from. I was particularly impressed with the 2** - the veg moussaka was great. Tereza's do lovely omelettes and cheese salads. Town pizza is great and you can never go wrong with a greek salad, some bread and wine. Heaven!!

I love the courgette fritters but quite often they sell out pretty quick - and the fried cheese (saganaki) is delish - u will def not go hungry - even tho I am not Vegetarian I do every now and again opt for a full vegetarian meal (without realising) because the choice / selection of ingredients is so good
