Hi Bryn and Clare

We've stayed at Tsaros twice - would warmly recommend the apartments. Baisc but comfortable, with all you need in the kitchen. Nikkos and his son Thanassis are very friendly and obliging. Pool and bar area excelelnt, with lovely views over San Stef. You don't have to carry six packs of water up the hill, as you can buy it at the same price at the bar. The advantage of being half way up the hill is that it is a shorter climb to the cliff-top and the path to Arillas.

Hope you enjoy your holiday

Nice one welshone - that would have ben a sticking point for lots of people.
When we stayed in the Moros just slightly below the Tsaros Pool Bar - it was murder carrying them up the hill!!
Wish I'd known at the time - but the price of a large six-pack is vastly cheaper from the shops than from bars normally!

Thanks for the information, we don't mind walking up hills. After a few years in SS and staying at the Kapetanios we are used to it really and when you have had a few Mythos you tend not to notice at all where your walking!!!

OK a BBQ sounds good to me. We like that as it breaks up the evenings going to the Tavernas and can make for a more relaxed evening, especially if your staying for more than 1 week. We are'nt to bothered about the hill walk after staying in SS for a few years at the Kapetanios, I tend not to notice after a few drinks anyway!!

We tried to book the Vicky where our friend George runs the bar. Thomas Cook had no availablity for that time in October so we ended up booking with thomson this time and we got a good deal.
If anyone is going soon, I'm sure if you mention us George at the Vicky will have a few Cherry Vodkas lined up!!

Have I seen Nikos...the dad.. dropping people off at times in that nice 8 seater he has, can anyone confirm this? I don't know him personally but he has always seem very happy/pleasant/welcoming and has always taken the time to greet us so, I am absolutely sure that he would pick up your water and shopping from the supermarket for you at anytime.
In addition, Vasellis from the supermarket at the bottom of your hill is also always happy to drop your shopping off with the offer of "taking you Lobster fishing on his big boat" for ten years me and my girl friends, don't know if the offer goes out to men too ;D, have been aspiring to the "Shirley Valentine" scenrio but he has never come up with the goods. Never mind, all in the name of the holiday banter and part of what makes SS so special.

Take care and enjoy!! see you soon.

Thanks Chris
Just had a look at the Christinas apartments, I remember them now near the church and they do look fab. We have always stayed over the other side of town so we will have a different view at the Tsaros I guess. Is the Christinas private or do any tour companies do it?

Thanks for the advice

thanks again for the details on Christina apartments, looking at there website they sure will be an option for next year. From what we have seen in SS all the accomadation appears to be very well presented and have everything you would need, but then again I don't have a bad word to say about Corfu!!!

Hi

Went to Tsaros Apts last year Number 9, 3rd of the Tsaros blocks near the top of the hill.
Hill not so bad after a couple of days. Honest!! My 2 boys coped with it no probs, at time were 7&4.

Nikos and Thannasis are great, we had hols through Thompson and the coach dropped us off at Barras taverna,(about midnight) Nikos was waiting for us and drove us up the hill and to our apt.

The apt was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed.Large balcony with great views.

Pool great, food fantastic in the bar,BBQ was 10euro on a Sat night (he'd only just started this venture),
had a fantastic holiday.

If you book Tsaros apts, you will not be disapointed. Unless its changed dramatically since last year.

Hope this helps

Hi Vikki

Thanks for the reply, we are going for 2 weeks & we fly out 16th October. We have looked at so many images of the Tsaros which look fantastic. We are a party of 4 adults and we have booked 2 studios, 1 each so we are looking for somewhere we can relax for a couple of days and then a couple of days travelling about. We fly at 06.30am so we will arrive at lunch time but I guess we will be collected from the Barras, after all the helpfull info from everyone we just can't wait.

If you think of anything else just drop me a mail please, Thanks

We were first timers to SS and stayed at Tsaros. Had a wonderful time and very warm welcome from everyone. We stayed in the 2 Bed apts, lovely and quiet, unusual to be away from the pool etc but didnt really matter. You get used to the hill, not really a problem especially if you stop at the bar before returning to your apt!!! Thanassis and his dad are lovely, very friendly. Nikos stopped and gave us a lift one day as he passed us on the main road. Enjoy!!

Thanks Top Cat

As I understand it there are 3 blocks of rooms but could you tell me how far your apartment was from the pool, sounds like your saying it's up the hill or across a road?

Thanks for that
we will be looking around the village when we arrive, talk to our friends about the recommendations & then we can book for next year.

One thing we look for is position & view it does'nt matter if there is a bit of a hill or a walk, don't like to be on top of everything so the Christinas looks ideal for us.

Hi Clare

Enough to make breakfast - two hob stove, toaster, kettle, plenty of plates, cutlery etc. We've usually bought Greek yoghurt and honey from the supermarket for breakfast, and then had toast. But no problems with the kitchen at Tsaros - and Nikkos will always help with anything else you need.

That's good to know that the food there is OK, we will be taking a look at the menu to see what the choice is like when we arrive.

I'm funny about breakfast, I don't do greasy spoon but my husband would love it.

Have to leave some space for LUNCH DINNER & LIQUID ..............lol
