Where to stay / Re: Nondas
« on: June 22, 2018, 12:06:27 AM »
Short cut was there last year but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are fit and it’s daylight🤣

Does it cut through the Theadosia apartments?

Has anybody stayed at the Nondas this year?

Is the shortcut still open?

Any idea whether the Bistro plans to open this year?

Thanks

It was still open in 2010 on our first visit.
We we're up at Romanza so didn't visit.
Think that was the last season

You sure the restaurant was open in 2010 Gav?

We stayed at the Perros in 2006 and the shop opposite was open but the restaurant wasn’t. This was July 2006.

Good Lord, common sense rules after all!  We should never be leaving the Union.

On a different tack. Just a comment about the ice cream available in most places this year.  It seems that Dolce, the Corfu product, have almost a monopoly. I think this is nothing like Walls and the Italian products and reminds me of the cheap stuff produced after the war that doesn't taste of cream and quickly goes into a milky water substance.  Doesn't really bother me that much but at €3.50 for a double scoop (from Tasty Corner) I feel families with a lot of children are being ripped off.  Anywhere selling the proper stuff?

We found that Silverstar had the best ice cream last year by far, can’t comment on this year though. €3.50 for 2 scoops seems very expensive also. I just hope they have some mint choc Chip this year, none at all last year.

Hi Diane, have checked my emails and I contacted them on the following email address, although this was in 2013 so I’ve no idea if it is still current.

Do you mean Mathraki?

Yes I think so. Harbour towards the right hand side of the island? Had some of the clearest water ive ever seen, would love to spend a day there.

Not a trip as such but we got some boats from Thomas last year and went over to the far (second) island, can’t remember what it’s called.

Was a great afternoon out. We could do similar this year Gav, get a boat between us and make a day of it, picnic ashore etc.

This is true. We have just returned home and this new law came into force whilst we were out there. I'm not sure it applies to gift shops, only general supermarkets for some reason. The first night it came in all 3 shops were closed up for 9pm. The second night one or two of the shops may have been open after 9pm but the glass doors were closed (so they looked closed).

Sea and definately the pools will be plenty warm enough at this time of year. I noticed a massive difference in the temperature when you compare May to July or August.

Love the Tsaros, stayed there in 2012 and would definately stay there again. Wouldn't say they were more luxurious than the Perros though, very similar.

I'd recommend the Perros. We also have young children of a similar age and will be staying at the Perros for the 4th time this August.

They have 2 bedroomed apartments which would be perfect for you. A great pool, nice air conditioned bar with air hockey and a pool table for the kids, and they are a real genuine family that will really look after you.

Edit: I've just read your post fully, please ignore the above, you've already stayed at the Perros 😂

Reasonable price that Gav.

We'll be paying full price for William next year with him being over 2 years old so it's looking like a little over £2k with Thomsons.

We've friends joining us next year so will again take our chances with Ryanair/Perros but I'd be confident it'd be a little less than £2k.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Planning your eating out

We have our favourites that we visit every year but just generally go where the mood takes us.

This year we'll be waiting to see where the riff-raff (aka Gavlah) are eating that night then we'll be heading to the opposite end of the village!  ;D
