my daughter is staying at the tsaros apts in june, please does anyone know what the food is like there. i.e basic foods or taverna menu etc
-
Isn't that a self catering holiday ? Tsaros aptmts have a good reputation. There will undoubtedly be lots of people on the site who can comment on them fully.
Tsaros pool bar is great. Thanassi and his wife and dad are lovely and they do a good breakfast and snacks throughout the day.
There are plenty of excellent eating places throughout the village. Browse this site and you will pick up loads of info. When are they going?
-
Helyou, we stayed at tsaros last year. They serve breakfasts such as full English, beans on toast, continental breakfasts etc. The daytime menu is very good and reasonably priced with the added bonus of a lovely pool and wonderful apartment owners. They stop serving food around 4pm and do not serve food of a night time but you can order a pizza from the town and eat it at the bar. They also do a barbeque on a Sunday evening at 10 euro's each which I believe is great value for money and very good. Plenty of lovely restaurants/tavernas to be had in the village too.
We are not going to SS this year, giving Thassos a go which looks very nice. Your daughter will love the apartments and SS too.

We have been going there for years, and its a big thumbs up all round from us. If Dimitri gets himself into gear this year(!!) you can go down the steep path for twenty yards and eat at the Elpitha.
-
helyou, just to add to swedebashers post, the Elpitha is a well respected Bistro with a great menu.
worth a visit.
Also a five minute walk down the hill will bring you plenty of eateries and a lot of choice.
Your daughter will find a favourite place to eat very easily, and a wide variety of menu as well, all within a short walk from "home"!!
-
a big THANK YOU to all, my daughter feels a lot happier now, she was 12/13 the last time she was at ss, i had told her not to worry about food as there are plenty of good eateries.
she isnt looking forward to the walk back up with a 8yr old and a 4yr old.
i will be there for one of the weeks she is there, think the hill will probably finish me off.
-
After the first two days you get used to it!!- or the legs do.
-
i do hope your right :)

We stayed in the Moros Ap'ts, a few metres under Tsaros, 5 years ago - you really do get used to it and it seems quicker each time.
It's not really that far - just a short steep stretch - very manageable with kids!

We stayed in the Moros Ap'ts, a few metres under Tsaros...
The great thing about those dungeons is, you don't get sunburn!
-
Actually - they felt like Dungeons as the sun is behind you for most of the day there! LOL

Lilly - Thassos is nice. Where are you going?
-
Hi Debra, we are going to Thassos this Sunday,[ Golden Beach] really looking forward to it. Had a look at photos, local info etc and it looks amazing.
We always do plenty of walking on our holidays so it looks like we have chosen the right place.
We both breathed a big sigh of relief last night when we heard the Ash cloud has disappeared. ;D
-
You and John have a good time......I'm sure you will!! xx
-
Thanks Gavlah,
Really looking forward to it. I read your brilliant review on Trip advisor, sounds like a really nice place.
Goodbye Ash cloud, hello Thassos. :) :) :)

Too many natural disasters in recent years - time for calm - time for the beach!!
