Feeling back to normal today....must of been one of those nasty 24 hour bugs!  >:(

So this afternoon I took myself off to the beach for a swim, and a snooze, and it was lovely. Despite being a changeover day, with many people coming and going, it was pretty busy there, with sunbeds being well used at Waves, Athina, and Mango. Lots of people in the water too.

This evening there was plenty of choice of places to watch the footy, including Barras, El Greco, Athens Bar, and Silver Star, but if its not your thing Acabar doesn't appear to be showing it, and Bar 38 were hosting their popular latin dance night tonight.

The temperature has really notched up now...no need for cardigans or jackets after dark any more! In fact, I popped down to the beach tonight too, just to dip my feet in the cool sea! I can highly reccommend it, with the waves lapping gently, and the full moon reflecting off the sea, I can't think of a better place to be  :)

Pop by and say 'Hi' Waspman...always nice to meet everyone!

Another hot one, and sunny until about 6pm, when it did cloud over slightly, but not enough to worry about.

Sorry but todays update is short and sweet. I haven't actually left the shop today due to gippy tum, not caused by any local establishments I hasten to add!!
So an afternoon in bed, and an evening in the shop quietly painting. And with me not eating, hubby had the perfect excuse to treat himself to a gyros from Yiannis!!

Should hopefully be fine again tomorrow, so will go for a wander and hopefully be more in touch with whats going on!!

Hot and sunny again today!
However we have come to the conclusion that maybe the thermometer on the digital display at San Stef car hire is on the blink, as that has so far not gone above 24 degrees, and it was definately hotter than that this afternoon!!

Still quite a number of people on the beach at 7pm tonight, dipping their toes in the sea.....

Quattro, the new Italian restaurant is doing a steady trade, and is getting some excellent reviews. Not tried it ourselves, but have been told by four different people what great meals they had there .Good to see another empty premises filled, as its never nice to see things closed down. Hopefully we will all have a good season, and the village as a whole will continue to thrive.  :)

Well, after last nights brief storm, today has been hot, hot ,hot!  8)

The village was pretty quiet this afternoon, as it seemed the best place to be was on the beach or by the pool.

This evening was busy, with most of the bars doing a good trade, entertainment wise there was karaoke in Thomas Bay, and Katie Perry tribute in Condor.

Quite a few heading to Aquarius for a quiet drink, and a number of people sat in amongst the gorgeous roses in Summer Dreams garden.

A new structure has appeared on the side of Olympia, I'm guessing probably in place to be covered to make a nice shaded area under which to sit. Their garden area to the side of the restaurant also looks really nice, with comfy seats in which to sit is you just fancy a drink.

Evening all....another late one, due to treating ourselves to a meal out with friends at Beachcombers....and very nice it was too.

Waspman, I think the new grillroom is called Lubrano's.You know how you walk past somewhere everyday, and kind of register the name, then can't quite be 100% sure.....but I can check tomorrow!!

Lovely hot sunny start to the day, but by late afternoon the dark clouds were looming, with the odd rumble of thunder. By 7.30pm we had thunder, lightening, and a downpour, but it didn't last long enough to ruin anyone's evening....in fact we had quite a nice light show whilst eating dinner.

Hopefully that will now clear the air for a good day tomorrow. The sky was amazing colours tonight, as the sun went down there were some shades of purple in the sunset, absolutely stunning

Another nice, hot and sunny day  8)
It did get a little cloudy early evening, and pretty humid, so we were expecting maybe a thunderstorm, but it didn't materialise, which was good.

The beach was busy this afternoon....being Sunday, there were a fair number of Greeks enjoying the seaside, as well as the visitors.

This evening there was quite a few people having late dinner, in Yiannis Gyros, as well as the newer grillroom next to Bar 38. Last year this opened under the name of 'Delicious', this year there has been a change of name, and change of ownership, with Sophia, who owns the building (and used to have a gift shop in the same premises), at the helm.

Hot and sunny today  8) Dare I say summers here (as it seems whenever I have said that so far the clouds appear!).

Penty of live music in different bars this evening, a bit of a San Stef 'battle of the bands'

There's the Tom Jones/Robbie Williams tribute in Condor bar, Elvis tribute at Silver Star, Splinter Band at Thomas Bay, and Keith Mitchell in Athens bar....plenty of choice if you like live music with your drink!

And of course the frog chorus is still going strong in the stream....

And the England game is on in a few places, including Barras and El Greco, with of course many more being shown over the coming weeks!

Thanks Dupnica, for the name, and reminding us about Gravia....you're right, another lovely place on the cliff, with views to die for!

Took myself off to the beach this afternoon for a chance to enjoy the sun and sea. Lots of people there, on sunbeds outside Mango, and Waves, and quite a lot of cars parked indicating visitors from other resorts.
The sea was refreshing, and quite a few waves were rolling in due to a breeze (fortunately not a chilly one!). There was even enough surf for the two kite surfers that arrived. Made for quite an interesting afternoon watching them.

The daytime temperature at the moment seems to be settling nicely at around the mid 20's mark, according to the display on San Stef car hire opposite us. Last year I remember watching it creep up daily as the season progressed into July and August, hitting 40 a few times, before edging down again in September.

Nice and sunny again today, with a lovely clear view across to the Albanian mountains.

Good news is that the seaweed problem has been cleared, and the beach is lookin' good! Must take a trip down there again soon, as the water was lovely and warm last week.

For those that have no walking problems, a nice place to go is at the top of the headland between here and San Stef. Theres the Akrotiri, with its gardens, to stop for a drink or a snack, and also, between there and the little chapel theres another little place to stop for refreshments....the name escapes me now, but whats nice is they have some great swinging seats to sit, right at the edge of the cliff, with fantastic views to Arillas.
And don't forget that the door to the little chapel is usually open, so its possible to take a look inside. If you're up on the cliff, take a look.

Nice hot day today, and the sun is getting that 'Greek intensity' about it.
Still a little cool in the evening, but I did go for a walk tonight in just a T-shirt, and it wasn't cold. Sorry, let me re-phrase that! No cardigan over my T shirt....

Quite a number of people were enjoying the morning sun and a bite to eat at 3 W's this morning. We've not eaten there yet, although have been for drinks many a time, but I've heard Margarita does a mean ommelette!

A walk around the older part of the village this evening saw the tavernas and restaurants there doing pretty good trade, it's very atmospheric to eat at one of the places there, listening to the sound of the waves, and after dark seeing the twinkling of lights on the Diapontia Islands

Very warm today, quite humid.

This afternoon there were some ominously dark clouds hanging over the hills inland, but here it stayed dry  :)

Many people at the quiz night at Thomas Bay this evening for their pop music and TV quiz. They hold their quizzes twice a week, and they are very popular.

And the frogs are in fine voice tonight in the stream next to the hotels and beside Acabar....they're quite tuneful too, but hopefully don't distract the quizzers too much!

A slightly hazy day, but nice all the same!

Many people out and about this morning, doing their last minute shopping and saying their farewells. And nice to hear people saying 'see you next year'.

This evening many were enjoying the last of todays sun whilst enjoying a meal on the terrace of Yianni's grill room, and most restaurants were all doing a good trade.

Had a couple come into our shop this afternoon, having just arrived. Last year they came over on the bus from Sidari for the day, and were telling me then how this seemed such a nice friendly place to stay....this year they've come here for a fortnight, staying for 2 weeks at Vicky apartments. Another 2 San Stef converts!!

Nice sunny one again today, with a little bit of a breeze! :D
Cabmufc, the worried men play a bit of blues, a bit of country, a bit of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, etc. They generally play through May and June, then have a break until Sept, as one of them returns to the UK.

Good news for fans of Sunset Bar....I know some people were asking if it was going to open this year.
Well tonight was their opening night for this year. Tables, chairs and parasols all out on the patio, with candle lanterns on the tables. All looks very nice, and the menu looks good too.

A nice sunny day, just a little breezy.

Today saw the wedding of Kasia and Nikos, from Athens Bar. Lots of guests started to congregated at around 10am, and the groom, looking very smart in suit and waistcoat left at around 11am. A coach arrived to pick up most of the guests, to take to the ceremony. It was so nice to see everyone all dressed up, especially people who are usually dressed so casually.

The bride left at just gone midday, and looked beautiful in a white, strapless dress, with flowers in her hair. Just before she left, Yiannis, from the Gyros place opposite let off some dynamite, and shots from his shotgun, in true Greek fashion!

A little late with todays post, as we closed a little earlier than usual, and popped over to Arillas for a beer, and to catch the second half of a gig by 'The Worried Men', a four man band consisting of local retired ex pats. They're very good, and played at Nafsika earlier in May. If they come to San Stef again, I'll let you know.
