Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Evening Meal Review
« on: September 02, 2009, 10:09:10 PM »
Funnily enough I agree with both Don n Brissle...on the one hand it does lure tourists Greeky stuff which, once youve been twice around the block , can seem to be corny but God what I wouldnt give to be that fit !! and I liked the food , ok not historic as Michael Winner would say, but perfectly passable , Myrna enjoyed the food a lot and the 18 year old desert expert seemed well pleased

Oh, I'm sure I would...why is it "having a pop"? blimey, if you regard that as a "pop" rather than a leg pull - you know like you with Jules, then it's a bit one sided in which case could consider theres enough pop taken at me and I rarely take umbrage...like going to Togo,is usually water off a ducks back to me, it's all part of message board "gallows humour"...you do it,Don does it, we all do...San Quentin is a Johnny Cash song btw

Monte -You know what they say....
"Late to bed late to rise makes a man sick, poor and stupid" ( come to think of it that sounds like me  ;D )

Tony Chuckle is pretty much spot on there, lots of my posts are with tongue buried in cheek - rather than between cheeks,..as he says it's your holiday, you do as you want, my lovely wife keeps dragging me off before I become too incapable to play late night scrabble and turn into a pumpkin at midnight

I love SS. But this year I found it very quiet in the evenings.  Stayed at the Athina.  I found that after dinner in the evenings, and then going for a walkabout and looking for somewhere to have a drink, there was no-one around.  Even in Condor on a Thursday at 11.30pm, there was only one table taken. Does anyone else found it to be like this.  I hope this doesn't affect the locals but I feel sorry for them.

half past 11! blimey most good Christians are abed by then , all wrapped up after cocoa and lights out, looking for a drink at 11.30? ::) ..this isn't Benidorm you know LOL

To be fair San Stef Travel was brilliant and the customer service superb, Thomsons as usual was well organised, admittedly, but way too pricey, there was another - opposite the Thomas Bay, cant say I was impressed with their attitude of "take it or leave it"

Well - I did try to go as well - logistically impossible at this time for us!
Don is there with Sandra to surprise Suela and Jules - old holiday and forum friends!!
The surprise did work and there is one yellow shirt walking around!!

For Zimmer: It is a Brazil Shirt he wears - not Norwich!! He supports Stoke!
The Yellow shirt will be the "Forum Shirt" or the Brazil world cup Shirt - his trademark!!

Bubbles - what the H***  - - - is one of the CB ??

Zoe, I hope you were not Riding a Donkey!! LOL

As for suggesting someone live there - I think living there - -  is totally different to a holiday!
Suits some who love it and the quiet winters , like Bev and Ray for example,
- not others who need a busier place to live - and S S to chill out in whenever the mood takes!!
I love the place and could live there all summer - not sure about the winter though!!
If I had unlimited money - I may cruise the Caribbean in the winter!! come on Lotto!!

Yes - I knew it was Brazillian, I was being droll  ::) You are allowed to say "hell" , it's not a naughty word  ;) :)
CB - = "Chuckle Bros" yours and Don's new nickname mun ;) :)
sigh - it must be nice to go every few weeks though, "when the mood takes you"I think I could spend an extended winter stay in Cyprus as I cant stand our winters, ah well que sera uh?...the way the weather is anywhere would be better than here at the moment

I second that Debra, having terrible withdrawal symptoms this year cant afford it but hope we make it next year.
We usually go around now.
Sandy

I hope things get better for you....we're,probably, having our FH sabbatical next year, but then intend- god willing - to have a big one in 2011 when I retire, so next year may be a strain but we want to try and clear the deckls [ and the debts ha ha ]before I retire, luckily I live in a nice part of the world and it's as good as anywhere -- IF the weather's ok, we can take days down the Gower or Pembs

The Amourada is great in Arillas too, very local food.. thats right on the corner with the gorgeous bourganvillias growing on the wall.

Yeah that gets good reviews too, and I really liked the look of the place when I saw it and it does a lot of interesting fish dishes, has to be worth a try

Zimmer was the closest and gets first prize - a Tin of Baked Beans!
It was in fact the Arch-Bishop of Stoke!

Glen is aware and will keep the code of silence!
Sue has not been on the net - & is unlikely to - and just knows about Jules, who will not be on-line today!!
Those in S S - keep "mum"!!

I think you should re-phrase that one! That's one joke that may well be mis-understood!!
I am sure there's quite a few that may wish you on your way as well!! How about moving to upper Togo? LOL!!

Eh? how?who? how many? do they?why?I hardly come here compared to some  :) ;) top part of a Roman tunic? LOL...Ok,re-phrase

I thought Don, renowned for his yellow Norwich football shirt, was going back in late Sept...?...he really loves it a lot there, maybe one day he'll consider living there?

better? I dont want any trouble or be misunderstood...when are you returning next?

Where to stay / Re: New to site and San Stefanos

Calimera!

Thanks everyone for your help and advice re the Teresa Hotel

Will be arriving on 25th Sept just for the one week - by the sounds of things should have booked for longer!!

Can't wait now and counting down the 'sleeps'  :)

Hope the weather stays good for us - know it's late in the season but was the only time I could get off work.

Am a bit of a Greek fan - have visited many islands over the years but never Corfu so really looking forward to a new place to explore.  Always gone for the quieter out of the way places.

Will have to get my spattering of Greek up to scratch!
Mari  ;)

"Calimera" ? good thing you arent Jules
