Greece added to Scotland's quarantine list...

We should have arrived Monday past and now would have had to quarantine on return.

I cant understand this, I believe there has been some infections traced back to Greece but the infection rate is steady and well under the 20, I really hope Sturgeon is not playing politics here!  >:(

Can I ask a dumb question-if Nafsika isn't open why are there people in the pool on the webcam? (It looks a beautiful day on the beach BTW!!)

Not so sure if the pool in is open to the general public but i understand Spero's niece and family may be over from New York. They are always over around this time.

There were certainly a few pool photos posted on the Nafsika FB page so its probably the family using the pool.

We were meant to be going from 31st August for 11 days until TUI cancelled our Monday flight.

We were going to hold off for a few weeks and perhaps reschedule, once we got a feel for what was going to be open and the risk of a possible 2nd wave of this damn virus, then make a decision.

However, the fact that Speros has confirmed that the Nafsika wont be open this year means we will likely write this year off and hopefully return in June 2021.

I think visitors who end up going will find a very much different village and may well be disappointed in what they find, the ambience that we are so used too might be missing this year :(

Speros has confirmed on his Facebook page that the Nafsika wont be opening this year.

A wise decision as the health and well-being of his family, especially his elderly mum Theodora, will be his main priority in these difficult times.

Here's to next year!

The guy fixed the camera (good news 8)) but he is having some problems connecting the fixed camera to the internet (bad news  >:()

they are hoping to get it up and working this week.

Hi Chloe,

I fondly remember your grandparents Shane and Sandra. Lovely couple and had many a chat with Shane over a juice and baguette on putting the world to right.

I have Shane a a friend on Facebook and enjoy hearing about their latest tours of Australia or trips to Bali,  they look like they are living the dream over there!  8)

Spiros is installing a plan floor in the pergola, which previously was rather rough concrete.

I saw them this morning as well - they were aided by Marley!

The fact that Spiros is spending money on the hotel makes me think he's hopeful of having the hotel up and running for perhaps the latter part of the season.

We will just have to wait and see what the next couple of months bring I suppose

There seems to be bit of activity going on at the Nafsika pool this morning.

A couple of workmen under the watchful eye of Spero are working on the Pergola that was built over the well last year, looks like they might be tiling the floor? Pool is still empty though but hopefully that will be getting filled soon, if and when the respective governments give the go-ahead to the tour operators to start flying again.

I remain in hope for some sort of season from July or August but realistically its looking like 2020 will be a write off unfortunately  :(

After missing out last year mainly due to illness in the family, were back from 31st August for 10 days.

As usual we are staying in the Vagelis Apartments behind the Nafsika.

Couldn't get our usual the two-bedroomed villa so Vagelis has given us his house which he and his family use in the winter. All his villas are pretty good but with this being the family home, its a bit more luxurious and with the bonus that were even nearer the Nafsika pool!

So looking forward to it, for me its not just a holiday , its like coming home.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Barolo restaurant

The boy has done well!  :)

1st got to know Aris when he started working as the breakfast waiter in the Nafsika 10 years or so back and always looked out for him when he worked in the Beachcomber restaurant.

So pleased for him and another restaurant to add to the list. Looking forward to trying Barolo next year.

There were plenty of people swimming this morning.  But it's never really crowded - it's a very big pool. We stayed at Little Prince in the summer, and our room looked out over the pool. That had towels on beds at 7 in the morning and was packed all day. I know which I prefer!

Agreed Jimbo, we prefer the Nafsika pool and always base ourselves there, its never been really busy all the time weve been there over the years.

We tend to be there at the end of June and the 1st week we almost get it the pool to ourselves, usually by the 2nd week and the start of the Scottish school holidays it starts to get a bit more busy.

I noticed the pool was busy during the main August English school holidays but I'd expect it will be quiet now as the kids are back at school.

Missed our fix this year but hoping all being well we will be back again next year!

Had the same conversation with Vagelis  who used to work in the Nafsika and now spends his time fishing and renting his villas. A few days back he said exactly the same thing, it's all down to the direction of the wind.

Happy to report that the pile of rubbish near to Maria's Supermarket was removed last night, must have been in the early hours as it was still there when we walked back to our villa after midnight. Still rubbish at the entry to the abandoned hotel on the main strip, hopefully this will be gone tonight.
