Think I have seen some pics of a new build directly opposite Olympia? …possibly a new restaurant? Anyone any the wiser ? Ps Olympia was a brilliant experience when we were there last September …wonder if the outdoor atmosphere will be changed if there are new premises close by?

Saw a few posts about that on Facebook, apparently will be a restaurant and something to do with the owners of Vickys

Yes, definitely a new restaurant. The concrete footings were put in place last season, directly opposite Olympia, and the build is now almost complete. The new venture is owned by Nicola & George (from The Perros Hotel) and they've been running the bar and restaurant at Vicky's for the last couple of years. I was in touch with Nicola recently about booking 2 weeks in September at The Perros and she said they're hoping to have the new restaurant open towards the end of May 😀

Should be great - lovely people.

This is great news-I was wondering on the Vicky thread what had happened to them. They are a lovely family and we have watched their boys growing into great young men!

Restaurant is called Cicala and has been getting great reviews on Facebook.

Hi Jimbo and Baj (as you are there at the moment) have you tried the new restaurant ? What do you think ?

Just had a look on Trip Advisor and it gets some very good reviews. Looking forward to trying it in a few weeks time!

We went last night. It is absolutely beautiful. Stunning. Designed and built by George himself, it is contemporary with light wood columns and a central atrium that can be closed if necessary. There's a long cocktail bar.
The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I had chicken in a mustard sauce and Gillie had king prawns. We left very happy and amazed at what a superb job George and Nicola had done.

Cicala wasn't quite open when we was there in May but will be our first restaurant to eat and drink in when we arrive in September
