Where to stay / Re: vicky info

I fondly remember visiting friends in Guernsey, who had French exchange
students staying with them. They were all horrified to hear that our chippies
sell deep-fried pizza!

If it was only bits of an animal we were talking about re a Scotch Pie,
I wouldn't have been too bothered!
Dander, droppings and sawdust were some of the less tasty
ingredients in this particular brand of delicacy!

There was a documentary on STV a few years
ago, revealing what went into a scotch pie. :o
We've not had one since!

This is such a pity. We're so sorry to hear the news,
and do hope you find a new position soon.

Testing to see if it goes to 210 this time!

I've just noticed that my total posts shows as 208,
although it should be about 220-ish,
and has stuck there for about two weeks. ???
Is this happening to everyone?
Doesn't really bother me, I'm just curious.

Sorry, folks, the Vicky bar doesn't sell Mythos............whew!

Aris the bar owner did tell us what the beer was called, I think

it was Vergina or Bergina, or something like that, very nice though!

Pints all round?

We stayed at the Vicky last September.
There are two of us and we were in the new block, which was very nice.
We booked to return as soon as we got home, and are going in June and September this year.
If we're put back in the new block that would be great as I have mobility problems and we were on the
ground floor there, but I heard no complaints from the folk in the older block, who were on our flight home and had stayed there previously..
The setting really is ideal, the path to the beach isn't as steep as some have suggested (I managed it!), and the pool area and bar are clean and welcoming.
I read those trip advisor reviews( one of which is mine, incidentally!), and agree with most of what was said.
We found the staff without exception to be friendly and approachable.
When are you going?

Oh,how I wish I hadn't read this thread!
Just checked the Thomas Cook website, and our two weeks in June
would be £170 cheaper! Still good value, though, in my opinion.
So it's not just Thomson.

But surely that was Medusa?
Wasn't Methuselah the oldest man in the Bible?

If you're heading to Scotland , pack plenty of woollies.
Our local press is forecasting -10 and snow next week!

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Where we ate

I have to agree about the Little Prince, I really enjoyed our meal there.
Our worst meal was definitely in Ozzy Oils,
neither of us touched our main courses, they were inedible.
But, top marks from me go to Waves Taverna, where we had Sunday lunch.
The restaurant was full of Greek families, up to four generations, all having a marvellous time.
The sardines were delicious, as was the Mythos, and the service was prompt and attentive.
Perfect!
Of course, as others have said this is all personal opinion of the meals on those particular evenings.

I scrolled through the results on the website and
the Vicky appeared further down the pages.
At last we managed to book it!
