Hi Pembo

You will get there before us, You mention you are staying at Nikos apartments, is that Nikos from the Athens Bar? if so we will see you there. We stayed there last year.
Yes, we have stayed there for last 3 years. I think we met you and John in Glenns last year. Don't know what has happened to Athens Bar website. I will have to route out Nikos contact detais to arrange airport pick up. See you in Glenns, should have had my fair share of Mythos when you arrive

We have just heard that our flights has been cancelled for the 17th August-31st August.
They have offered us other flights on the same days.
The outcome being that we will lose 8hrs on the arrival day and 10 hrs on our departure day.

We enquired about flights that were not far of our orignal times but were told that we would get a £250 cancellation charge.
After many heated phone conversations/emails  I am sad to say we got nowhere and have accepted the new times offered.
So for the 17th August cancel lunch, swim in the sea and walk along the beach as we wont be in San Stef till 9.30ish in the evening rather than lunchtime.
As for the 31st not much time for anything as flight goes at 11.30am, cancell, beach, swim, walk and food and drinks with Glenn. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Hi Sue,We fly out on 17th Aug from Manchester 7.25am flight with Thomson, could have had a package for the same price as what the flight cost, by the way we are staying at Nikos apps

Out and About / Re: Royal Ionian Lager
« on: June 13, 2009, 03:37:18 AM »
Although my favourite lager is Mythos, I have heard about the new brewery in Arillas and am keen to sample the product, simply for research purposes of course! Can anyone tell me wheree it's on sale in San Stef and is it bottle only or draught as well?

Cheers in advance, Gordon
I tried it last year in Yiannis, was not that keen though, found it a bit too sweet. Reverted back to the Mythos.

Hi All - We have noted the odd complete naughty word being "Fully" dropped into the conversation here on the forum.
Can I ask us all to remember that kids visit and read this as well, and any "naughty words" should not really be given out in full format,
However, if it is a ''must'' to cement a point, and you really must, lets all agree at the least, to put it in the starred format:
i.e. B****r, etc, at least that way, we the Adults, (hopefully), can work it out and the kids,
who probably know anyway, can't actually repeat it and justify it as acceptable, by saying - well it was on the forum.
This way no one can get upset, it's just a bit of old fashioned respect for others!!
Now - don't shoot me for this one, because we can still have the usual fun!!,
I certainly don't want us to be like my workplace where it's over-the-top Political Correctness and run by killjoys!!
Enjoy it and have fun - S S here we come!!
Well said totally agree

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Yiannis Grill
« on: June 09, 2009, 01:04:55 AM »
Nice walk to Paradise and an even nicer one coming back via WWW Internet Cafe, especially if they have a live act on.
Yannis though holds great memories of good friendships formed.
Indeed it does Don. Can't imagine San Stef without the hustle and bustle of Yiannis. I wonder if he is opening up somewhere else instead?
I got told last year that Yianni  was looking to open a pool bar not sure though where could be towards Arillas but just guessing

Paradise roast lamb is excellent, I asked for mint sauce, Stephanos brought in special mint sauce al the way from Morrisons in the UK. Still it is the thought that counts. lol

Nice to go to San Stef to forget about the politics. The duck island, the cleaning of the moat and all the other issues. More fiddling going on than the Halle orchestra. Then I spoke to two guys from the Green Party, they are doing everything to save this planet but live on a totally different one. Can't wait for August need that holiday in San Stef

San Stefanos news and views / Re: reporting back
« on: May 27, 2009, 02:35:34 AM »
well guys, back home  :'(

First of all, it is still the same wonderful, laidback, sunny place that we all love so much.

There are a couple of new things going on :

MYTHICA =  my good friends Jenny & Leo (from Romanza) opened their new restaurant. Located to the left at junction and virtually opposite Yiannis Grill. A pure delight, gorgeous food served with fresh vegetables instead of rice or chips. Good home cooking with an extensive choice and is no more expensive than any other restaurant. A touch of class. Do visit them and tell them Sarah sent you !!

MAMA MIA- opening night is monday 25th May. Pavlos from Zorbas, and is next door to Zorbas. the old Mexican. He has been working very hard the whole time i was there to get it up and running. Looks very nice and am sure it will be of the high standard that is Zorbas.

UN-NAMED AS YET - small bar right next door to SAN STEF Travel. looks like it will be a nice place to chill and watch the world go by. looks very close to finishing.

Well it has been a strange start to the season, most places are booked up, but there never seems to be many about at night. The locals are worried that people are not going out spending in evenings. There is some concern there for survival this season, so come on guys go spend some money. Also the sunbeds did not appear on the beach until the 16th may, this was due to some auction for the pitches on the beach and some arguements, why not do that in the winter then ????

Weather has been great for May, we had a couple of cloudy days but they were still hot, as we did the marathon walk to Avliotes and back !!!!

As usual have been greeted back by all our Greek friends and treated like royalty, and have once again met some lovely people, also met people who stayed at Teresa when we did last year. So all in all it has been a great fortnight, and now we are dying to go back again.

If anyone wants to ask anything please feel free, am sure i can help out with any queries.

Sarah H

P.S Nothing has gone up over there fronm last year, inc Ciggies etc so thats good for us.

P.P.S  Met MIKE T from this forum, and his family, a pleasure to speak to. x

[/q Hi Sarah, That was a really good report. Nice to know what changes have taken place since 2008. Will keep going back each year, but If I ever see a Mc Donalds being built, I will consider going somewhere different. We go in August and it can't come soon enough

Hi Sumo,
Wherever you stat in San Sef I am sure you will be pleased. We stayed at the Athina on our first three visits but have been in Nikos appartments for last four years including this year. We prefer this as there are some great paces to eat. I am sure you will enjoy your holiday and join the long list of people who go back to San Stef every year. Yamas

We regulary go to the Paradise when in San Stef, one piece of advice, the portions care large and ca be too much so make sure you are hungry before you go .Some peole order two starters rather than starter and main meal. Food is good especially the lamb on Saturday night.  :)

Where to stay / Flights
« on: April 15, 2009, 01:59:24 PM »
Easy jet are now flying to Corfu from Manchester, not the best in the world but it works out cheaper than Thomson and TC. Only problem is they are late flight times.

We arrive at lunch time so after we unpack we will make for 2 Stars, creatures of habit been there for past six years. Evening meal will be either Paradise or Olympia, both are superb
