Has anybody tried the chinese yet? I love a good chinese meal, but when in ss its has to be the traditional cooking for me.
-
Really can't envisage eating Chinese in SS! Too many wonderful places to eat Greek food. But each to their own. :)
-
Personally speaking I can't imagine eating anything other than the wonderful Greek food on offer in all of the tavernas.
-
No Chinese for me!!!
Not the biggest fan anyway although I have had a couple whilst in Fuerte....there's about 6 in Correlejo!! Too much nice Greek food about for me (and Pizza!!)
-
Can eat plenty of Chineses here at home only one Greek restaurant here in Sheffield not bad food but grumpiest Greek man I have ever met. Too many lovely Greek tavernas to eat anything else
-
I must say that after a couple of weeks in Greece I really start yearning for a curry. There's room for choice, surely? Like the Greek Pie and Mash at Tasty Corner, or the Greek pizzas, or the Greek crepes, or the Greek English breakfast, or the Greek Caesar salad at Havana Bar, or the famous Greek club sandwich!
I'll be there for sweet and sour souvlaki and taramasalata spring rolls. :-)
Is it being run by the three probably Chinese people who rub oil all over naked people on the beach? I suppose it's something to do whilst waiting for the main course.

Myself I prefer to eat locally. I can get chinese at home but there are no Greek restaurants near me. Does anyone remember the chinese that used to be on the beach road next or near to the supermarket?
-
How many years ago was that Caz was it popular
-
dont remember there being a chinese in SS before.
-

hi,not sure whre that is lol,i live near the park :)
-
Jimbo
I think that went straight over the top :D
-
maybe I'm mistaken. When we first went to ss 10 or 12 years ago there appeared to be what looked like an abandoned chinese. I remember red chinese type lanterns etc on tables and at the windows. On the beach road just past the supermarket. If it wasn't or hadn't been a chinese anyone know what it was? It certainly wasn't open then if had been.

Hi, where is this Chinese. My son will want to go he loves Chinese food, but we will all want traditional Greek food. Can have a Chinese any time at home
-
The recently opened Chinese is in the old Bar38's previous spot, so almost opposite Thomas Bay, they also do an early doors menu between 6pm - 8pm and having seen their full menu looks very tempting. The chinese is called Lily's.
-
Well I like Chinese and I love Greek - I also like Indian and Thai and Mexican.
So - - two weeks of Greek food - - I may well give it a try - - just for a change.
But - - - I may not as well - - I'll see what I fancy on the day!
OPEN-MIND!!
-
Agree with both your plan of action and the underlying sentiment Tony.
-
Me too!

cant imagine eating chinese with all the choices we have in ss , but may suprise meself 1 nite .. each to their own . dont knock it til weve tried it . i remember the mexican opening about 6 or 7 years ago . super food 1st year then went downhill the next till it closed . less than 5 weeks til we land for a fortnight .. cant wait !!

Point is - isn't nice to have choice - after all - where we live we can source any kind of restaurant and food type.
We often have a Greek night, or one of the many others - but when on Holiday, we usually like the local cuisine.
Trouble is a week and a bit later - I may want a Chinese - or a Town Pizza - or a Bistro meal - or a kangaroo steak - - - - - - etc. etc.
Luckily San Stef has a great choice of meals - - - and we could not get bored with all that choice!
-
The Chinese looked decidedly empty last week - I think the most people I saw in there was 4 at any one time!
-
Just out of interest - have all the wild cats and dogs disappeared?
aaaarrrrrrhh! - - - - The old jokes are the best!!
-
:)yes we tried the chinese, and i can honestly say it was brilliant. At more expensive than at home, but the portions were huge. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was thick with chicken,we also had the bbq ribs,so many, and the sauce was lovely and thick.I would try it and see. There is also a takeway service as well.As we couldnt finish our food,i asked for it to be put in containers so we could have it for lunch the following day.
-
Thanks for that, good feedback.
-
im thinking along the lines of trying it now . maybe outside the villa on one of those nights when ya cant be bothered goin out ......
-
I think I'd love to try it, as Chinese is a favourite, but convincing my wife is the problem, so maybe second week.
-
Sounds like a plan the Joneses we had a Pizza a couple of nights on our patio last year after we had lunch out for a change
-
Good idea, I may get round it that way - - LOL
