As I'm now home completely gutted and totally depressed can I start next years thread yet? :D
We will be be booking for the first 2 weeks of July (End of the World cup) and next year taking my parents as well (That's not a bad thing like it sounds!! :D).
Only 370 days to go and yes it's dragging already :D

Chris - it was without doubt!!
You are part of the furniture now!! It is a must - or the flags will fly at half-mast!!
(they usually do when the Girls arrive)LOL
Bit too early for me to book as I have to co-ordinate with others!!
But - - - see you there in twenty-ten as well!!
-
starting to look for next year our son and his girlfriend also want to come but we are looking for sep/oct this year holding out to see if prices drop

That's why we are lucky as we only have ourselves to consider. :)

Even though we only returned from San Stef today, i've already looked for next year this eve and Portland have increased prices quite dramatically for 2010. Teresa's in June around £500 each for 2 weeks stay B&B. That's a £70 increase/person on what we just paid for the last 2 weeks! Think i might wait until Sept/Oct to book, because they'll start discounting hopefully.

If you can find the discount codes for Thomsons you will save £100.00. When I booked ours for next year the price is about £90.00 more for the fortnight than this years with Portland. Having watched prices over previous years I don't think the prices will drop. The 1st edition brochure is usually the cheapest.

That's not true Jules - you have to consider Don & I as well now, our needs and our free holiday !!! LOL

Thompson's best discounts are usually at the end of December, & beginning of new year.
You have to keep checking for the big sale weekend's!!

See the post above - we watch Thompson's like hawks and you can always find a promotional weekend!! Best are the new year sale usually!

2010 prices were set when the exchange rate was particularly low, near parity, plus they have reduced the quantity of holidays overall, and add on the expected price hike anyway, so overall prices are well up. Another thing...rant forthcoming... we are told to pay by using a credit card in case of trouble then you have a case to take up with the card provider- BUT have you seen the percentage that Thomson charge for paying by card??? My wife paid the remainder for our September holiday today, and got a TUI c/c charge of £14. We have already paid extra when we booked, and when we paid the deposit balance, so I guess TUI have had nearly £20 out of us. >:(
-
when we booked last year for the thomas bay we booked a room with a bath only to find they only have showers have looked on site to see for next year they are charging you £56 for a bath they and £28 for a balcony all rooms have one anyway i feel sorry for the staff in the thomas bay if anyone pays for the extras they will have a go at the staff

In case of any trouble they do belong to Abta.
-
Yes they are, but it is reassuring to know that if they stuff up you can claim off your CC. My beef is the huge percentage rate that Thomson are levying. I do not charge customers who use CCs in my shop, so what is their excuse!!
-
and we have booked for next year too !!!! and still have week in sept this year yet !!!!
we noticed the prices with portland at Teresa were up considerably on the B & B side, but if you go self catering - the price difference (when we asked) was about £130 well sorry but you wouldnt spend £130 each on breakfasts for 2 weeks.......so now mine is safely booked , ha ha, i suggest those trying to book Teresa go for the self catering option and go out for brekkie !!!!!
Just an idea !!!!
Good luck !!!
Sept 18th - 1 week
2010 may 14th - 28th
Yippee !!!

Love going to Teresa but I wish Portland (Thomsons) would pay them what they deserve. They work incredibly hard all Summer long and never moan.

The Thomas Bay does have 2 Rooms with no Balcony, behind the corner room at street level, facing the frogs.
My Neice stayed in one a few years back!!

Where are you flying from at that time of day. That is devotion to the cause above and beyond the call of normal duty! You'll be too shattered to have a skinful of Hot Chocolate with Sue & John!
