San Stefanos news and views / Re: Vicky Apartments
« on: February 25, 2014, 11:21:02 PM »
I love the Vicky apartments, and after a two year break, have just booked to go back again this year.

I use a photo taken from the top of the old block, room 16 I think, as my screensaver at work. I get many a comment and lots of questions as to where it is.

I think the location is absolutely perfect, within a few yards of the beach, and only a few minutes walk away from the centre of the village.

Where to stay / Re: vicky info

Hi,
We stopped at the Vicky last year, our first visit to San Stefanos, and have just booked to go again in August.

The old block is exactly as it says, not as new as the new block, but I don't think that there is anything the should put you off staying there. In fact we have actually asked if we can stay in the same room in the old block as last year. The balconies in the old block have more privacy and get more of the sun in the late afternoon/early evening.

If I was going to be hyper-critical I would say that the toilet/shower area could do with tarting up a little. But this is difficult because of the design of the building. It is on the small side but everything worked, there was always plenty of hot water and the cleaning was spot on. I believe that all the bedroom furniture was replaced at the start of last season.

At the end of the day we don't go on holiday intending to spend a lot of time in our apartment so as long as everything works, the bed is comfy, and everywhere is clean then we are happy.

Where the Vicky really excels is it's location. 20/30 yards (I'm old school) down a slight slope and you are on the beach. Approx 150 yards away is the nearest supermarket. Plenty of places to eat, all within a 10-15 minute walk which is fairly flat. No noise at night.

So the final message is don't worry, you've made a good decision to stop there and I'm sure you will have a good time.

Out and About / Re: The Golden Beach of San Stefanos

hi Jules T,

We stopped at the Vicky Apartments, which we found ideal. Very close to the beach and a really pleasant 10 minute walk into the centre of the village.
I must say that we were really taken with San Stefanos and whilst there are plenty of other places we would like to go to, I think that it is more than likely that we will return some time soon.

We now have an understanding of why you love the place so much.

regards,

Hi everyone, my first post on this site.

Just got back from San Stefanos this morning, happy to report that the beach is plenty wide enough.
Over the two weeks that we were there it widened by a good 5/6 yards and there was another bank of sand about 15 yards out into the sea that seemed to be moving slowly to the beach.

Can't say the same for poor Arillas though, compared to 2008, they have lost nearly all of their beach.
