San Stefanos news and views / Re: Time for my review!
« on: July 17, 2014, 11:15:45 AM »
Got home on Monday after another great holiday, San Stefanos has not changed much from previous years still the same friendly village with many good restaurants. Our's was the usual lazy couple of weeks, enjoyed our walks to Arillas and Akrotiri on many late afternoons. This year we tried for the first time Fantasea- 2 visits and Quattro which we enjoyed, our particular favourites Ozzy Oils - 4 visits including the BBQ, Beachcomer -2 visits and Nafsika - 2 visits. Also went to Olympia, Manthos and Waves all serving tasty food.
Prices at all restaurants were similar to last year although did feel portions were slightly smaller which is a good thing (for stomach) as we always thought they were too large. Attended some live music evenings with some good musicians however less gigs due no doubt to the World Cup. Weather was very good with a slight breeze most days and one thunderstorm late at night. Nice to see familiar locals who greet you like old friends.
We discussed 2015 this week and after initially deciding we would go to a different Island it ended up SS again (4th time) - it draws you back. While at the apartments and talking to others we found that many had already booked for next year with some unable to get dates they wanted. This did make us decide to book now (early for us normally September) . On checking online had difficulty meeting our requirements finally got a 11 day holiday instead of 14 - looks like Mythos will be fully booked again next year!

Out and About / Re: How I found San Stefanos.!!!

Having stayed in Arillas a couple of times and always walking to SS for a meal at least one night we decided to book a holiday there the following year this will now  be our third year in the village. Although we have holidays in other Greek Islands we  try to make it back to SS for at least one week. We like to eat out each night and try as many restaurants as possible so self catering suits us and where we stay has only 4 apartments and 2 studios so not busy a "real chill out" place. I think it's the peace and quiet, good food and the friendly villagers that brings us back.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: ozzy oils

Usually eat at Ozzy Oils two or three times when in SS one being the BBQ night, have always had a friendly welcome  and tasty food. OK it's not "Greek" but we enjoy different dishes hence Ozzy and Beachcomer visits with the other nights being Greek meals. Having said that each to his own, however have to say never had a  poor meal in either SS or Arillas. Almost down to single figures now before arrival.

20 days to go and starting to sort holiday clothes out. This year the Thomas Cook flight is much better leaving Glasgow at 9AM so hopefully at Mythos Apartments by 3.30 PM and having first refreshment soon after. May try to get a booking at Ozzy Oils for Tuesday BBQ and quiz if not fully booked. Looking forward to eating at our favourites Beachcomer, Nafsika, Olympia, Ozzy Oils and Waves amongst others. Need to try Fantasea which was not open I don't believe when we were there last year.
Looking forward  to "chilling" out once again in one of the most friendliest villages

40 days for us, 3rd visit to SS. Have previously stayed in   Arillas 3 times as well. We have visited a number of other Greek islands which we enjoyed but seemed to have settled on SS for  a totally relaxing holiday, good food and friendly locals. Enjoy our walks up to Akrotiri and on to Arillas for a meal in Brouklis. Never had a bad meal in either SS or Arillas.
