Out and About / The Condor
« on: June 29, 2009, 01:43:42 AM »
We had a great time in this bar and usually ended up there after a meal. The acts are due on at 10.00pm but didn't start untill about 10.30pm. The greek Elvis is a must as he gets the house rockin and he will pose for photo's with you. The ABBA girls are good and have great voices they also go on to sing blues brothers and commitments songs and get you involved. The drag queen was ok, my advice to you is if you are a male do not i repeat DO NOT sit near the front or make eye contact with him/her. Our fav was Robbie Williams he even sounds like the real Robbie, he likes crowd partipitation so be preparded to get up & dance. All in all we would say, don't be shy, you're on holiday, you probably wont have to see any of the people there again so it doesn't really matter if you make an idiot of yourself, cos if you're making someone else smile in the process you're only helping them to have a happy holiday. Enjoy!!!

San Stefanos news and views / Re: Back from Tereza Apts
« on: June 29, 2009, 01:15:50 AM »
Just got home (having been delayed our flight for 18 hours), but we have to say that even with the nightmare that ended our stay in San Stefanos we will still be returning to the Tereza apartments again (as recommended by Jules T).
We had the best of times, although the holiday was somewhat thwarted by bad weather, having only one day in the whole of the 1 week stay where it didn't rain. Mostly the sun did come out for some time every day which stopped us from burning as when it did come out it was pretty intense.
The Tereza apartments were fabulous. The cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in anywhere abroad & if you forgot to do the washing up the maids even did that for you, I forgot quite a lot  ;D . Leo & Fannis & all the other staff at the bar restaurant were excellent & could not have been more hospitable. You must do the Greek night & barbecue at the Tereza as this was such a scream. Just a quick word about the Condor which had free entertainment every night & where we spent many a fun evening.

18 hour delay?!!  :'( Which travel operator were you with?
For Teresa the TO is Thomsons.
Just a note to say it wasn't the tour operators fault the delay was due to an electrical storm so planes could not land or take off. Our plane had to land at kefalonia until the storm had passed and when it eventually landed in corfu the pilot had used up his flying hours. The airline did the best they could do for us they put us up in a hotel with a meal and flew us home next morning and you got an in flight meal even if you didn't pay for one, but as the plane was due to fly the previous day we had meatballs for breakfast :D

Thanx for that, whats the Teresa like, it gets top reviews, is it worth the extra money in your opinion. It does look very nice on the pic's we've seen. We will def. self cater/go out for dinner somewhere new every night as we usually do. Went to Kefalonia last year, which is lovely, stayed in lakithra, again quiet, beautiful scenery, we're looking for something similar just on a different island.

OK Thanks for that, looked at Olga Apartments too, but all sites say that there may be road noise as it is close to the road, which worries us as the wife can hear a mosquito fart in the night. Do you have experience of the Olga Apartments? Do you have any others that you would recommend for a quiet, relaxing time by the pool, the odd night in a taverna, peace, tranquility, pool is a must, as is a bar, as is air con & fridge.
Thanx

Sorry to bother you all, but we're new to san stefanos. Hoping to go this year. Do you happen to know whether the voulas apartments have air conditioning either payable or not.
Thanks & we'll let y'all know how we get on.
