Not the hut at the end, it's actually in the cliff side, partly eroded away but clearly a wall of some sort.

It's not that important anyway, just wondered if anyone else had noticed it.

On a different note - really want a villa in San Stef but Romanaza can't happen this year at least - any ideas?

Ah yes, Natasha and Irina seem very knowledgabel about all things San Stefanos ...

I looked at it again - I took a video of it (sad I know) and it looks too far down into the hillside to be anything recent - not a fisherman's hut anyway.
I reckon it could be quite a lot older...
The old ones are always the best anyway!!

Thanks Rod,

I am seriously concerned about booking with Thomas Cook, they seem to have an alarmingly high rate of cancelling bookings and blaming the owners, but they do have some good properties - don't know what to do now!  ???

San Stefanos news and views / The end of the beach - what is that?

Hi
When I was there this year I walked almost to the end of the beach (past the Havana bar) and found what looks like some ancient ruins in the hillside. It looked a bit like an old wall of some sort, lots of pottery stuck in it.
Does anyone know what that was? I was just curious...

Yes, that one. The man in there was really nice, swapped the warm beers for cold ones. I think it was the Bergina beer though, not Mythos, but still a nice drink.

We came back a couple of weeks ago. Ended up in 2 Star most nights (son liked the ice cream with a sparkler in it) and they had specials for about 6-7 euros including main meal and cake / dessert. Cheap and cheerful.

Supermarket prices - found the beer (most importantly) cheapest at the middle supermarket opposite the bus stop at 75c a can. Bread was 90c a loaf from the bakery. Most food in supermarkets was quite basic so you couldn't really make a good meal, better to eat out. 1.40 for a small carton of milk! Maybe I was robbed lol!!

I'll still go back though. Obviously. ;D

Hi Everyone
Thanks for your replies. The Romaza Villas look really gorgeous in all the pictures, total luxury that would be, but I think we are going to have to give it a miss this time  :'(
Tonyco1 - I am also somewhat surprised at the price difference although it's understandable if there is 200 miles difference in it!
Looking again at the Kapetanios, I had read a review from an angry sounding man who had said he had booked with Thomas Cook and they had changed his accommodation at the last minute, so no, not the fault of the Kapetanios, but Thomas Cook are selling them again for early May next year. I would hate to deliberate over accommodation for ages to have this happen, as we need the separate kitchen / bedrooms rather than an open plan affair.
We stayed at Tsaros Apartments this year which were great, and it would be nice to go back there, but we found cardiac / heart attack hill difficult with a 4 year old when it was too hot! It would be possible though, and they were big apartments. Thanassis was nice too & I understand his twins are due very soon.
Anyone any ideas how close the Mythos Apartments are to everything?

Sorry to ramble on!  ::)

Thanks Waspman, they do look very nice, although I have to say it would be pushing the boat out a bit!!

The real issue with us us that we're "up North" and the flights from Newcastle never seem to be that competitive.

We all loved San Stef though, this was our first visit and I am amazed at how many peoples names I came back remembering (for all the right reasons!)

Thanks for the input,

Kath

Hi Everyone,

I am new here but returned from San Stef not so long ago  :'( and was looking to go again next year. I am interested to see if anyone has stayed at the Romanza Villas and if so, are they worth the price tag?

I am torn between those and a standard SC apartment and doing more day trips etc.!

Also, while I'm at it, I was looking at Kapetanios Apartments and also Mythos, but Mythos looks a bit far out and I heard reports this year that the Kapetanios didn't open on time and people were forced to move accommodation  ???

Any ideas / insight would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Kath
