Information and help please / Zest For Life

Anyone know if Shane & Sandra (Kerry's parents) will be back running Zest for Life (juice bar) this year?

I've now booked my taxi with Corfuairporttransfer & we expect to be in our apartment by 9.30 pm. (might even have made it to bar for the first Mythos by then). At 48 euros that seems well worth it. Booking on-line was easy & I received the confirmation transfer voucher via email within a couple of hours.
Thanks again Papapetros for pointing me to the site

I have in the past used Corfu Airport Transfers.com and they are excellent, their current rate for 1-4 passengers is 48 euros, around £42 at today's tourist exchange rates. For the last 2 years have hired a car from Valantis and it only takes 90 minutes including stops at Lidl and Sconto for the initial provisions and the prices more than pay for the car hire.Roll on June 10th.
Thanks Papapetros.
Anyone else who may be interested in a taxi transfer please note: Corfuairporttransfers.com are quoting 79.81 euros. The site quoting 48 euros is Corfuairporttransfer.com (note there is no "s" at the end).
Thanks to everyone for your help & advice. We will be booking a private taxi transfer but not sure just yet whether to use San Stefanos Travel or Corfuairporttransfer.com. Waiting for confirmation of  SS Travel's current price.

Information and help please / Taxi from Airport to Little Prince
« on: May 08, 2013, 04:37:04 PM »
I am trying to decide if a taxi transfer from the airport is worth it. Our flight is due to land at 8.05pm on 7 June & our Thomson booking includes coach transfer. I would not anticipate the coach leaving until 9 pm at the earliest & then depending on the number of drop-offs I guess the transfer could take anything up to two & a half hours. (This time taken from Thomson brochure -how accurate might that be?).
San Stefanos Travel website is quoting 55 euros for a taxi transfer. Anyone know how long the journey takes at that time of night? I'm only interested in a one way transfer because quite prepared to use Thomson coach for journey back to airport.
Any help appreciated.
Mike

Nice to hear everything  is opening up. Can't wait now for the 7th of June and another couple of weeks at the Little Prince!
We'll also be at Little Prince for 2 weeks starting 7 June. Flying from Bristol & we  land around 8pm so I expect we'll get there around 10.30 if we're lucky. Second visit for us & looking forward to it.

Went ahead yesterday & booked Little Prince for 2 weeks commencing 7 June 2013. Have been watching the price on Thomson website. It had risen from £495 when I checked on 20 June to £616 when I checked again at beginning of July. Yesterday the price dropped to £535 each & showed only 2 studios left. That must have been true because today there is only 1 left & the price has gone up.

San Stefanos news and views / We didn't like San Stefanos
« on: June 24, 2012, 11:59:20 AM »
Well - not for the first couple days! Initially we couldn't help comparing it to Elounda - there was no pretty harbour & we were disappointed with our first meal. The food was served differently than we'd had in Elounda & was not what we were expecting (although we wouldn't say it was bad).
I'm not sure what happened then - maybe it was the welcome we got at the juice bar from Shane & Sandra - maybe it was the people we met at the Kamini bar - maybe it was Nikos in the Athens bar -or maybe it was that the next couple of meals were excellent & lived up to our expectations - but we found ourselves enjoying it . After a week (we were there for 2 weeks) we were thinking we might consider going back next year & a few days later we were looking at possible places to stay. The day before we left we had decided we would definitely be going back to stay at Little Prince apartments.
One lady said it was her 17th time in San Stefanos & she believed that when people got there they all became nice people. Maybe that sums it up.

Information and help please / Re: Mosqitoes?
« on: June 02, 2012, 03:43:47 PM »
Thanks to all for your replies.
I had hoped to be told they were not a problem until later in the season but forewarned is forearmed. I have used Mosi-guard roll-on repellent in the past & will be taking that plus the Soltan after sun with insect bite protection (as mentioned by Debra) & Boots bite & sting relief liquid. Also have a couple of plug-in repellents. Hopefully will remember to use the stuff before getting bit. I do intend to take the names of any of the little buggers that by-pass my defences: lol.

Out and About / Re: How I found San Stefanos.!!!
« on: May 29, 2012, 10:47:46 PM »
We found San Stefanos because Thomson stopped using the  accommodation in Gouvia which we had booked in December 2011 for our June 2012 holiday. They offered us Little Prince as an alternative & a quick search & subsequent discovery of these forums indicated San Stefanos should suit us nicely. We'll know for sure in 10 days time but the more I read about it the happier I become.

Information and help please / Cardiac hill?
« on: May 28, 2012, 11:15:55 PM »
I get a little "worried" when people mention cardiac hill & steep climbs because although we are staying at Little Prince (which I believe is not up a mountain) we would like to visit some of the other accommodation mentioned in these forums  (Tereza's & Romanza for example and  Akrotiri cafe). On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being flat & 10 being almost perpendicular) how steep are these climbs & should they be attempted by a 70 year old who has no mountaineering boots or climbing ropes? Lol.

Where to stay / Irons
« on: May 21, 2012, 12:13:04 PM »
Will be staying at Little Prince Apartments on 8 June. I know from their website that they have hair-driers in the rooms but does anyone know if they have irons, or should we bring our own?
