Where to stay / Re: What do you get in an apartment?

We are staying at the Vicky next September so would be interested in what you think of them.

Normally you would have supply washing up liquid, tea towels etc.  You usually get a kettle rings and possibly an oven.  I think you may even get a toaster in the Vicky.

We would never go back to hotels as we prefer the freedom of self catering.

Hope you have a great holiday

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: 2 Stars
« on: July 19, 2010, 06:17:02 PM »
Can only speak as I find, but we ate in the 2 Stars several times last year and the food was very good.  Alright there may be better restaurants in the village but I always enjoyed the meals we had there.  Maybe the chef has changed

Thanks for the replies, not too worrying though, we never at them at the Olga last year and it wasn't a problem

Jules, unless you can cheaper flights you are better going with Thomas Cook.  We have just booked for 12 September 2011 including extra luggage and meals on the plane for £1030.  This was with a local travel agent who gave us better discount than TC.

Double Dee are you booking for this year or next year.  I have just booked the Vicky for Sept 2011 got a good deal from local travel agent.  Better than Thomas Cook could offer.  We have never stayed there but have walked through several times and thought the pool and bar area looked great.  Only ?????? weeks to go.

Don't know about the Tsaros, but we left cash locked in our suitcases last year and it was fine.  I don't think San Stefanos is that sort of place.  We are looking to go the Vicky next year but they have not been uploaded to the Thomas Cook website yet.  Just keep looking.

Stayed at the Olga in July. We were in the front block and had no problems but there was a problem at the block at the back, although this may have been a one off.

We came back in July and one of our courses was less than a kilo over and they never said anything.  Maybe they only charge once you get to 21kilos.

Jules

We saw those kittens, they were absolutely adorable.  My friend wanted to put one in her handbag.  They were sooooooo tiny.

Jules what do you think.  Had a brilliant time, although the village did seem a bit quiet.  Had some lovely meals, too much ouzo, but then what is a holiday for.

Went to the greek night at the Tereza - brilliant as usual.  Leo still as cheeky as ever.  His daugher is beautiful.  Fanis and Greg on top form.

Hope you have a great time in August.

San Stefanos news and views / RECIPE FOR STAMNA
« on: July 20, 2009, 07:16:31 PM »
Have just returned from our third lovely holiday in SS and loved the Stamna they served in 2 Star.

I have tried to find a recipe on the internet, but they keep coming up with lamb recipes or recipes with cinnamon and paprika in them.

2 Stars was definitely beef and had no spices.  Can anyone help?
