Has anyone had any meals at the Brouklis in Arillas, and if so please give me the full SP.
-
No -where exactly is this one in Arrilas?
I am interested as well!!
-
Rick Stein has. He raved about it on one of his shows.
Pretty sure Zimmer mentioned it in his taverna/meals review.
Check the Arillas site to see where it is.

We had lunch there, absolutely brilliant imho, very Greek, lovely taverna which hasnt "sold out" or rely on gimmicks - ok the location isnt great in that theres no great panoramic view of beaches and sunsets- but it's everything Stein and a taste of Corfu say- highly recommended

When we stay in SS we always have at least one meal in Brouklis. Have stayed in Arillas several times and have eaten there quite alot. The food is superb.
When you go down to Arillas (by car) from SS you turn left (at Whispers) when you get to the main street into Arillas and it is a little way down on the left.
Another good restaruant in Arillas is Thalassa -right on the beach front -excellent for watching the sun go down.

The Brouklis is very near the ATM machine if you know where that is lol very good it is too :) Dimitris used to be the main man, but I don't know if he still is
We had a meal in the Thalassa this year, we stayed in Arillas 2 years ago, and the Thalassa was the best in our opinion, so we just had to venture back this year whilst we had our rental Jeep :) We weren't disappointed, it's got that 'classy edge' over the rest of them :) Watching the Sun go down is lovely and very romantic, but I always seem to get the seat facing the setting sun 8) still I suppose it would make me a bad parent/husband if I made one of my kids/wife sit there lol

Dimitris is still the main man, his other project is the Arillas website!.
You've hit the nail on the head Colin re Thalassa it has got that classy edge. We always make a point of going there and Brouklis.

Right then people, we will make it our duty to go there in September, as the Greek-er the better as far as I am concerned. Can't say that after all these years going there I have ever heard of the Thalassa ::), where is it on the front??
-
Thanks all of you - Never been there - but now remember it as passed by many times, I will make it a definite stop next trip!!
Too many good recommendations to pass it by!!

Yes it's on the front, go onto the main road just down from the Brouklis and turn left, it's not too far down, well worth a look, I got my Mythos in the tallest glass I have ever seen!! it was skinny though, so didn't hold any more :( lol

When in September?

looks like we will have to have a walk to arillas
-
I wouldn't say it is "Greek-er" it is just classy, fancy plates, cups and saucers etc and the food is lovely. The meatballs are fantastic for a starter (Thalassa).
Brouliks is greek-er and lovely also. The spit roast lamb is yummy! They are both worth a visit if you are in Arillas.

Going on the 4th, Don.
-
Three Weeks before us then Swedebasher.
-
We will be there next trip - for sure!!

The Amourada is great in Arillas too, very local food.. thats right on the corner with the gorgeous bourganvillias growing on the wall.

Yeah that gets good reviews too, and I really liked the look of the place when I saw it and it does a lot of interesting fish dishes, has to be worth a try

We have been going to the Armourada since 1991 and have seen Leon from a little kid through his national service, to now the mainstay of the Taverna, and er, blush, even get a phone call from them at Christmas. The Konstantis family are great, even son Vasillis who is a trifle odd but harmless. They are open all the year round so is a true Greek taverna, and I can thoroughly recommend the Fasolada and Sousokakia (both have to be pre ordered btw). I shall be in there on September 5th and probably most of our holiday.
-
Must do that as well - next year maybe - feel I have missed out after this stream of postings!!

One of the best taverna's for real authentic Greek food. Make sure you say hello to Dimitris the owner and webmaster of:
