hi all , how is the resort looking now,? any big changes ? I am hearing and reading about free sunbeds on beach from selected bars, tavernas etc.. who are these bars etc and how do we qualify for the freebies ? I believe the barras is doing it . how is that working out ? do you receive a voucher if you eat there ? do you have to collect it yourself ? . Hoping the rate goes up a little ... forecast is good according to some websites . this new governor of the bank of England could ruin all this so lets hope he,s not in the hotseat till after summer ..mythos prices in supermarket was 1.10 last year wiv the kids making a roaring trade collecting up the family empties (usually more than lots ) and returning em for the deposit ... 5 weeks to sun !!!
-
Yes the Barras are doing sunbeds on the beach this year. What you have to do is go to the barras, order a litre of beer and drink it quicker than it takes George to do 10 laps of the fountain, if you win you get a free sunbed for a week! Such good fun.
-
if that aint a wind up D&G then I cant imagine that being a problem . beds sorted for the fortnight . hope the Mrs participates !!! has anyone measured the distance of the fountain ? in case it becomes Olympic sport .. !!!
-
What about general 3 course meal prices, soft drinks, cocktails etc?
-
if I recall last year , the cocktails were 4-5 euros ,silver star being one hotspot , also Athens bar ,. plenty of deals about regarding meals i.e 2 courses for 8 -9 euros , free bottle of wine chucked in some places . beer was averaging 2.50 euros for a pint or large !! hope it aint changed much .
-
Prices have not changed at all since last year. Don't forget though that you are getting 9-10% less euros than this time last year so there's your price increase!
-
We have never been to Greece, normally go to Canaries or Balearics, and the prices seem very cheap compared to what we are used to on the Spanish Islands! Not complaining as it means i can drink more cocktails!
-
you will love san stefanos . weather ,people , atmosphere ,sea , scenery all combine for the perfect hols. kids have loved it for the last 12 years and therefore so have we . happy kids equals happy hols ...

We are bringing our 16 year old daughter and friend and after research thought this would be an ideal place for them and us. It seems like it would be safe for them to have a little wander without parental supervision, and give us some proper adult time too!!!
-
Adults and youngsters alike are very safe in the village so you will have no fears about your daughter and her friend having a wander around.
-
I'm so excited I could burst, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas! I've got 4weeks and 3days, but I think I might explode before then!!!
-
kids totally safe . love it . you will love it I,m sure . 16yr olds will wanna boogie in the condor , or chillax in the Athens bar , surf the net in 3w bar and play darts !!! yep darts in there and Christantho is nuts bout the game . have great stay . 5 weeks Friday for 28 of us !!
-
4 weeks and 2 days for us so I guess we are going on the same date!
Last year, 2 weeks in san stef - food drink and sunbeds every day cost us £1100. I week in Majorca, food , drink but no sunbeds - £1000 (but that included a few cheeky, expensive G&Ts on the seafront)
-
4weeks and 2days for us too! That's a massive price difference, almost same spends but for an extra week. Can't complain at that!
-
Due, didn't read that you put about same date! Excitement taking over I guess!
-
Sarah/Suarez three weeks and one day for us, can't wait. We are staying at the Barras, think you are too aren't you? Will be there for two weeks so will still be there when you arrive! 8)
-
Yep at the Barras too, can't wait! So looking forward to it, especially as lots of things look cheaper than we are used to in Spain! Extra cocktail I think! And maybe an ice cream or 2...

Price of a pint of beer in Ag Stef = 2.50 - 3.00 euros, price of a pint of beer in Tenerife = 1.00 euro, not cheaper as far as I'm concerned.
-
Trouble is most places charged 2.50€ for beer in Tenerife - only a few places were 1€ - and some were time restricted... stop teasing!! LOL
