Well Jules - you can kick this one off!!!
You will be there on Friday!!
-
Not sure about Friday yet - Saturday is a definite with Sue and John at Ozzy Oils though.
-
it will be mythicas and the little prince with a coffee at the barras
-
We dont arrive until 11ish so i guess we will head to the hotel Bar for a few drinks and the second night will be at the hotel (Thomas Bay) as we are staying Half board, then probably up to Teresas for a few drinks and a catch up!
-
We arrive around 10-30 so it will be Mythos at Olgas on the Friday. Sat maybe Mythica to try it out then on to Silver Star for a quiet Mythos and some people watching.
-
Arrive around 21.00 so to satisfy Sandra the first night will be to visit the Little Prince. I have no say in the matter. Then it will be finding Sarah Harris, and Zoe and Roy!
Second night will probably be Ozzie Oils! We will have a little something for Shane and Sandra's Sunday breakfast!
-
i arrive at 9.45pm friday for the weekend to see my fiance who is from avliotes ! and i cant wait as its been 6 weeks !! yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
-
don i dont think you will have to look far chances are roy will be having his sizzling steak on friday night just as you arrive
-
So nice to know where you are heading for and to know it will be good!!
-
No idea where we ate on our first to nights. They ended up lost in good company, good conversation and loads of laughter! Probably do the same in 3 weeks! Heartily suggest all you motorists junk the gas guzzling tin can and use those feet. According to the RAC it costs 6200 ppa to keep a car on the road! That is a lot of holidays!
-
Don
The stupid Government took away and killed public transport from the levels it used to be.
They then priced it out of most of it as well!
That is what encouraged people to buy cars and fund the Good old GOV!!!
In short it would be just as expensive to travel by train and bus as my car - without the convenience.
We don't all live five mins from work!!
So holidays would not be funded by me not having a car!
You are one lucky boy!! LOL
-
we could not do without a car roys work is 8 miles away no bus service we can get a bus to taunton once every hour or a bus to yeovil that leaves at 7.30 and comes back late afternoon also i work 5 liles away no bus and only country lanes so not safe
-
The car is probably the best modern invention of the last 100 years that can be used by everyday folk all over the world.
It gives people freedom of movement to travel where they like, when they like, especially within their own locality or country, and in the main, it's affordable for almost all of society.
And this coming from someone who doesn't drive!
The car's 'freedom of movement' capabilities far outweigh any environmental concerns IMO.
And i'll anticipate some comments that may appear on here in answer to my view:
Except when your car breaks down and it costs the earth to fix
The car is a huge contributor to global warming (questionable - the jury's still out)
Car drivers think they own the roads
The UK govt fleeces car drivers
The oil co.s fleece car drivers
Car drivers have no regard for cyclists
That'll do - the car is here to stay.
-
Wow!! Man after my own heart - individual freedom and flexibility - must always have a car!!
Cars = every greedy so&so's cash cow - inc. the Government!! - don't get me started!!
-
we will go to zorbas as my daughter loves it there, and then to condor bar for the entertainment!!! Is Elvis still on there?
-
Well when we arrive this time it's on a night flight so it's sraight to bed!
Then on Aug 31st, We will be in the Thomas Bay with some friends and later we want to go to the Aquarios Bar,
where we hope to meet Jules & Roy and Sue & John for a drink???
Lots of time to tie that up though.
As for the Condor, Stefanos & Athina the owners, always have the tribute Acts on or a show of some sort -
so I expect to see the Greek Elvis again this year as well as others!!
-
first night the little prince roy has waited a long time for his sizzler then on to the aquarios bar saturday night ozzys oils then thomas bay
-
this year I think Mythica will be our first night ansd Ozzy Oils our second night - can't wait
-
They are my first choice as well Jules, for the first evenings we will eat out, but we will eat in the T/Bay first night to catch up with everyone, and it's paid for as well!
I will also pop into the 2Stars for brekkie or lunch as they are the best value in town for good food.
Hope to see you there in the Aquarios.
-
Not arriving until around midnight so first eats will be Giros Pita washed down with ouzo and lemonade and catch up with news from Yanni ! Second night has to be the Prince for sizzling steak or I'll end up in the divorce courts!
-
where ever the whim takes me..... fredom to go where ever!!! Olympia, Mythica, or a tuna salad at theodosia and then on to new bar 38 or aquarius or 3w... what ever!!! that is the delight of it.
-
BED................. Anything else depends which way the wind blows lol
-
Sandra - we didn't ask for your secrets!! LOL
-
I think it will be the Little Prince first night. I can hear and taste the sizzling steak already :) Probably visit Sue at the Beachcomber on the second night for the great food, viewas and sunset.
-
I will spend the first night as always at the Romanza Restaurant with Leo, Katie and family. The next night if i follow my normal practice it will be down to the Mythica to see Leo & Jenny. As who as most of you know ran the Romanza Restaurant prior to opening the Mythica.
-
I tell you what - -all the above make for a great night out - - you just can't go wrong!!
-
We arrive at the airport on 7th June lunchtime - nice early flights on Ejet from Bristol. Should get to Fedra Mare by about 3.00pm i'd think - that gives us a few hours to chill by the pool - hang on - i expect my wife will chill by the pool whilst i'm sent into the village to get some provisions!
First night - prob Zorbas - my wife really liked it n there and to be fair i thought it was v.good and lovely atmosphere - OK a little 'typical greek entertainment' but good fun all the same that gets you in the mood. Then we'll go into the Condor and sample the 'entertainment' - a bit corny but by 10.30 on your 1st night who cares?! ;D
plus the owner gave us a few free drinks during our 2 weeks last June because we were regs i guess and we always like to have a chat - u know just being friendly. We also had a laugh because anytime the music was on the bar staff would suddenly clap to it for a couple of seconds - brilliant! Probably had to be there, but it was one of those moments that we had a childish laugh about ;D
2nd night - maybe Ozzy Oils - is Tuesday the barby night there?
-
Hi B B,
Yes it was all last season - Ossie Oils BBQ Tues Night.
I love the Condor - but then we have been really good friends with Stefanos since 1983,
when he was a teenage waiter in the Golden Beach.
Such a nice family - he married Athina and two grown up kids later - he is still the same lovely guy we knew all those years back!
-
HELP needed guys!
Rather than start a new thread need some advice.
Ironic isn't it that after posting my 1st 2-day evening itinery on this thread, i've rec'd an email in last hour from Ejet saying cancelled our 7th June flight and that it was scheduled for 17:50 out of BTL. That confused me because they were telling me our flight was cancelled - fine - and when i checked the booking on ejet website with my login it was showing 17:50 take-off, but my email from back in sept (when we booked) said it was a 06:50 flight.
Anyone think the email rec'd tonight should've said "We've changed the TIME of your flight on 7 June"?
Anyway i want to phone them, but can i find a customer services phone number on the Ejet website? No.
Can anyone help? An uptodate phone number for Ejet?
-
There is a phone number posted somewhere on this site - will look!
-
Cheers Tony - hope you have better luck than me.

Cheers Tony. I'll have a look.
Just got a reply email from ejet - reckon it's an automated one. But it says thanks for my email and says we are receiving a high volume of emails at the mo - will reply soon. I reckon they've sent out emails with the wrong messages to hundreds of people and suddenly their mailboxes are getting inundated this evening. Fingers crossed. Hope it is just a flight time change, not a cancellation.

That's the point - we help each other and make new friends - we all feel this way!
Update to the Ejet flight issue i raised last night. Been in London all day for work; just tapped into my emails and there's one from Ejet.
It's an apology - wrong message went out last night - no cancellation, but they have moved the flight from 06:50 on the Monday morning to 17:50 Monday evening. Bit of a shame really because we like early morning flights and we were planning an afternoon by the pool, before our 1st evening out in San Stef. Now we wont get to San Stef until 2.30 next morning i guess :(
-
We also arrive around the same time as you when we travel - but Thomsons this time.
At worst - 05:00 at hotel.
Not great - but last day we have all day.
-
looks like i will have to do my duty and keep the bar at the fedra open till bb gets to ss
someone has to do it ::) ::)
-
I will send you Don's credit card then - you will need it!! LOL

Cheers Chris - 2.30 in the morning i reckon - bit of a difference from about 2.30 in the afternoon! If you're still there at 2.30 in the morning i'll be very impressed! ;D

As it will be out first time we may just eat at the Romanza (stopping there) and then probably have a mooch about on our second day!
We love eating out and had some great meals in Kefalonia a couple of years ago. We must have eaten in 10 different places and didn't have one bad meal ;D
-
Hi Gavlah1973. Welcome to this friendly site. You will have plenty of choice of tavernas to eat in in SS. Most of us have our favourites and I am sure you will find some to call your favourites as well. You will also have a great meal at the Romanza with views to die for as well.We arrive 27th August for 2 weeks and are staying again at Teresa which is just down the hill from you. In the meantime if you need to know anything at all about The Romanza or SS just ask and one of us regulars will be pleased to help.
-
Hi Gavlah1973
Welcome to the forum.I endorse everything Jules says in her posting. The Romanza has an excellent web site at romanzahotel.com.You will find more details and photographs there.

In reality - I would like to spend my evenings in every Bar / Restaurant - as I like them all!!
However that is not practical - so Thomas Bay first evening 31st, and may walk up to Glens as well (Aquarios Bar).
Second - I may change my mind, but the Mythica, Ozzie Oils and Little Prince all call out to me!!
-
From what I've read I deffo fancy the following....
Romanza (will probably eat there a few times to save walking anywhere lol)
Beachcomber
Little Prince
Ozzy Oils
One of the pizza places
I guess the remaining nights will be spent at a couple of others or revisiting the above......
The only thing I find suprising is that you seem to have to book at a lot of places? Never had to do that before on holiday, We usually just have a wander about and then decide what we fancy
-
Most places you can just turn up. Ozzy oils and Beachcomber are just a couple of exceptions.
What time do you normally go out for a meal on holiday?
-
Because the word has got around - best to book to make sure!
-
We usually sunbathe till around 5pm, then either have a cheeky drink on the balcony or at the pool bar before getting ready to go out around 7.30ish.
We'll then usually have another beer/vodka tonic at the pool bar before heading off to eat around 8.30/9pm
Love to finish off the night around the pool bar and head to bed around 12.30/1am ;D
I shouldn't have come on here.......I'm getting the holiday blues!
-
Well we almost run to the same timetable as well - -Roll on S S
-
You youngsters.............. We don't eat until after 9.00pm and the evening doesn't really start until 01.00 am is past!
-
Whatttttttt!! We were carrying Don home snoring by 10:30pm every night!! - Last year - LOL
-
That would be the day! 01.00am before bed when working! up at 06.00am too !!!!
-
All right Don - - - -
(folks - - he's gone into la-la land by midnight the latest! - - old age!)!! LOL
-
If I'm La La then Tony is Dipsy or Poo !!! Are they Bellytubbies too ? :o
-
Now you are going too far - that will cost you a LARGE MYTHOS!! LOL
-
Ozzy Oil now has its own website to tempt your taste buds, check out www.ozzyoil.com
-
Free wine.............. Sounds my kinda place LOL
-
Lesley, can I ask - do you live in the village as you seem well informed?
Thanks for the Ozzie web site, and the Vicki Apts info as well!
I shall warn Kerry that Don is going armed with 20 vouchers!! LOL
-
Hi Tony, yes I live in the village (Avliots) have done so for many years and suppose you'd call me a bit of a grecophile as have been in Greece, various locations for 30 years. Just love it here.
-
Oops spelling error Avliotes!!!!
-
You youngsters.............. We don't eat until after 9.00pm and the evening doesn't really start until 01.00 am is past!
is that because you go for the happy hours first don lol ;)
-
Only have 4/5 hours sleep when working. Body clock likes same hours on holiday. Good luck or bad luck!
-
I knew there was something odd about you Don!! LOL
By the way, sleeping in a coffin during the daylight hours is considered unusual!! ;D
-
Tony........... remind us.............. Just exactly why don't you leave a shadow? Blame Don ;D
-
Oh stop it Mother!! LOL
-
Anthony.................. That's your naughty name! Now which is your step?
-
I can do naughty!! LOL
-
I bet you can !!!!! lol
-
You should know - I've still got the scars on my back!! LOL
-
Probably town pizza first night and then beer at the athens bar. Whats the new pizza place like next to Zorbas
Richard
-
Well I love the Town Pizza which is really good -
but I must say the one owned by Zorba's is also very good and pizza's cooked in front of you!
so if you are a pizza nut - give it a try!!
Their Pizza base garlic bread is terrific!
-
the pizza place next to zorba,s was closed down last season the manager walk out in september and they shut it down , we return in october and it was still close we were told big problems dont know if its open this season yet .yammas mike [two weeks to go then back to god,s country and the terrasa hotel]. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
To Bed ! The only definite............................. LOL
-
Ok Mike - I didn't know that - we went earlier in the season!
I guess it's wait and see!
-
The first visitors will tell us soon enough. Can't wait to hear of any changes though.
-
Yes - anyone know where the Car-Hire has moved to (the one that was opposite Condor)???
I believe that Bar 38 is to open almost as planned on that site during May!
If not - first visitors or residents - - - please relay the info!
-
As far as I know Tony the san stef car hire is still going to be opposite the Condor. Valandis is moving into the building next door to where he was and the new bar 38 is to take up the old part of the building. Hilary and Spiro are losing part of their house in the process too! As I left in October they were bulldozing the car hire bit down.
-
Thanks for that info - that all makes sense now! I can't wait to see the end result!
Valandis is a great guy - I sat in his office a few times and he loaned me his internet connection - looks after you well when you hire cars from him!
-
hi all
first night is always town pizza...stamatis special ,yum yum sounds good already. And as for day two who knows i tend to go with the flow thats what san stef is all about for me..
xx justine xx
-
Thanks Justine, the regulars are aware of Spiros's problems, but Hilary requested no details be put on the Forum in case his children read it, and over-react.
so could we ask you edit out the reason he's in hospital for now please.
Yammas and have a great Pizza - I remember when Stamatis used to drive his huge American Car around San Stefanos when he returned from America many years ago.
-
AS we will arrive late in the evening this year, our first port of call will be to see Glenn at The Aquarus Bar.
-
We will prob go to Zorbas then visit Jenny and Leo at the Mythica, Do i remember correct about there being a great pie at Ozzy Oils or was it somewhere else ?
-
Yes the great pie is at Ozzy Oils although I have yet to try it :)
-
Just ask for SKIPPY PIE, they'll know you've spoken to me! :o
-
Cheers jules and don ! Skippy pie eh ;D
-
also the bbq night with kerry singing is a great night out at ozzy oils
-
Can vouch for the BBQ night at Ozzy Oils and the one at Teresa's too. Ozzy Oils has Kerry's brilliant singing, Teresa's has fun Greek dancing- be prepared to join in... The ladies say they the men look great from front or back!
Do the Romanza do a BBQ? Over to you PR man?
-
PR MAN? - I expect he'll arrive wearing his y-fronts over his trousers and have a red cape!!
Spesh49 - yes you must try Ozzie Oils - great night!!

Hi Don
The Romanza has a BBQ on a Sunday Night and in my opinion it is the best.I would say that .As we all know some people do not like BBQ food. This is not a problem as you can choose a meal off the menu if you wish.
To avoid any accusation of being biased which of course I am, I include an unsolicited testimonial from a fellow forum member previousely posted on this site .Mid season 2009.

The Caped Crusader
Testimonial July 16th 2009 Subject Romanza under New Management
Since last year The Romanza Hotel bar and restaurant management has changed. As you all know Leo and Jenny have gone and now opened The Mythica Restaurant in town.
The new family that has taken over are by far the friendliest Greek family you would ever wish to meet.
Two sisters, Katie and Alex with family members Leo, Andreas, Nicoletta and Eleni do a superb job and will do anything they can to help. Marina is still in the bar and reception (evenings).
The atmosphere in the hotel is fantastic, the food is to die for (try the moussaka & kleftico) and the BBQ night on Sundays consists a bouzouki and keyboard player with greek dancing (with audiance participation) by the entire family, Katie and Alex's Mum and Dad and the hotel owners join in too.
The Romanza Hotel is now far better than it has ever been in the past.
-
What does the Romanza have - that no other Hotel has?????
It's SUPERYAN
faster than a speeding Greek waiter, more powerful than a push bike, and able to leap tall single steps in a single bound,
SuperYan has X-rated vision and can see the nudist beach through the cliff-face, he deals out Romanza PR at the speed of sound, or keypad,
he has super-hearing and can hear of special Romanza deals light years ahead of the crowd!
His only weak spot is for Romanza Krypton-cake, which can bring him to his knees after 10 portions.
So folks - - - say bad things about Romanza at your own risk!!
SuperYan - - - Romanza's Finest - is on duty - - PR at it's very best! ;D :D ::) :o
(Just a shame about the Y-fronts worn on top - airtex - grey and tatty - c'mon Romanza - you owe him a new pair - Red & blue silk to match the cape!!). LOL
Over to you SuperYan!!
-
Hi Tony
I have given a lot of thought to your posting regarding my super hero image. It was during my consideration of the state of my y-fronts I had a brilliant idea.I thought yes they are old and tatty, and they do MING (smell) a bit. Then it hit me like Martian lightening bolt.
Why not discard the y-fronts,keep the cape and create another Superyan on the cheap.
That is how FLASH GORDON was born. His mission in life to patrol the nudist beach playing with his odd shaped ball.I had some concerns how the public would react to this. These were dismissed as most people will have seen the film and know Flash Gordon plays Quarterback for the New York Jets.

Hi Tony
Do you not realise that these y-fronts have given 10 years UNBROKEN sevice to the super hero section of the Romanza PR Dept.
In our current enviromental situation how could you advocate such a shocking course of action.Do you not realise that the toxic cloud produced would ground all flights for the foreseeable future. Not to mention the damage to the ozone layer. Can you have this on your concience.Just think we would not even get to San Stefanos, never mind being able to decide where we go on the first two nights.
Please think again.

I'm getting a bit worried now. When we were in SS last year for a week it seemed to be a quiet place populated with nice people of a certain age.
We're going in 5 weeks for 3 weeks, and the longer I inhabit this forum the more it sounds like a branch of Care In The Community! Is all this on the NHS? Can you get Batman costumes in the mini-markets? More to the point, can you get Y-fronts? Does anybody have up-to-date information on the price of Y-fronts in SS? Are they cheaper in Sidari?
I will be selling T-shirts with "I AM SANE" on the front outside SS Travel, but there may be an exam before purchase is authorised. An obvious question will be "Have you been a member of the San Stefanos Online Forum" for more than six months. Earlier, apparently sensible, suggestions to "take extra medication" can be seen in a new light. In the event of Eyjafjallajokull dumping a few billion tons of crap into the atmosphere and we all get stranded in SS for weeks, will people be foaming at the mouth and saying mad things, like "I trust David Cameron"?
In an entrepreneurial spirit, should I take a suitcase full of Viagra, Polygrip, trusses, Settlers, Super-glue for Zimmer frames, CDs of calming whale music, copies of my new book "Very Short Walks Around San Stephanos (see chapter 1, 'Bakery to Barras')?
Just got off the phone to Channel 4. They're interested in making a documentary. They're hot on psychiatry!
:D

This is going too far to suggest that true Icons of San Stef, Super Hero's as we are, would need Zimmers, Wheelchairs,
or Viagra! This is too much for the super-studs to take!!
I shall now form a coalition with SuperYan and Don - We are Family! (we are called the ''DonserYaTive'' Party).
You can expect to be kidnapped at your home, transported by an oily fisherman's van to San Stef,
flogged with the Yannis Glitterati Thong, and then fed worms!!
A ransom will be put on the net for a weeks unlimited Mythos!!
When we have chained you by furry handcuffs to the railings next to "Frog Stream", and painted your nails pink,
you will be placed in front of the "DON", who will decide your fate, - - - - - will you be fed to the ravenous birds at high tide (probably the Bulgarian Cleaners),
or forced to drink a pint of Fullers Bitter? (Tip: the birds are starting to look good!!)
I can only advise you to put up the white flag now, before this happens.
SuperYan may also use his powers to transport you over to the "Volcano" where you may become the next ash cloud!!
** Ok Boys, look's like Jim will be buying the beers now!!

Tony -
I know when I'm beaten. Your powers are obviously mighty. You seem to be the Head God in this Olympian trinity. You are Zeus.
Anyway - you're not there when I'm there, so I can't buy you a beer. Tough!
I will happily buy a Mythos for those who overlap. They will easily find me. I am 6'3" tall, muscular, bronzed, black hair, deep blue eyes, age 38, and I'll be flying in on a private helicopter.
Or not!

I have just booked a private Jet, will be there in time for my free beer on Jim!!
And by the way Jim, I re-read the earlier posts - still laughing! - loved the short walks bit!!
Nice to have someone else on the forum with a good sense of humour!!
(after all - no one could be 6'3" tall, muscular, bronzed, black hair, deep blue eyes, age 38, and good-looking
- - although we would have bought the Helicopter bit as both myself, Don and Yannis have one each).
LOL and Yammas!!
