Hi, I know it's probably been asked a million times before, but what are the wasps like in San Stef in Sept? We would love to come back in Sept (haven't even been this year yet !! 3 weeks tomorrow ;)) but our experience of the wasps in Agios Gordios a few years back was awful, really awful

I think I saw one three years go.

Better ask Waspman.

Last time we went they were a nightmare and that was Aug/Sept time
Wife opened the brolly up next to our Sunbed and there must of been 30of em having a kip!!! Cue everyone jumping in the pool!!
Was same in Sept in Kefalonia. .... loads!
Hardly any in June
-
As Gav says! not many in June/July but worse later in the year.
I hear a very friendly Wasp arrives next week and he's there again in September. Strange, they never trouble me!!
-
Definitely quiet a few about in September. I even got stung once on our last day a few years ago. As long as you don't antagonise them they are not a problem :)
-
Some years are worse than others but we go every September so they can't be that bad! The breezy conditions in San Steph seems to keep the numbers down, they were far worse in Kassiopi when we visited in Sept 2010.

I'm afraid to say there were quite a lot when we were there last September. Seems to coincide with ripening fruit and harvesting. I also witnessed a couple of toddlers being stung on the beach too. :(
Trying not to antagonise them is the best way, but its difficult when they're buzzing around...
