I agree the Beachcomber, especially if the sun is about to set, you wont need romantic candles! And the food is excellent.

We also missed Olympia last year. Sad to say that we were turned away from an empty restaurant without reason. There were 6 couples and 5 well behaved children in our party that evening. Needless to say we didn't attempt to eat there again and wont this year either. :(

*this is my only negative dining experience in 4 weeks in SS total.

Thats what happened to us a few years ago, the restaurant was half full but we were turned away and not very politely! So we never went back nor will be go back. Also it is the only negative thing that has happened to us in San Stef.

San Stefanos news and views / Re: Smoking while dining Alfresco ?

I dont agree with people smoking when eating even if its outside. People should think of other peoples health. My Mum suffered from breathing problems and would have found it hard to breath if a smoker was near her.

San Stefanos news and views / Why Why Ryan Air?
« on: March 07, 2013, 10:57:04 PM »
We were so pleased Ryan Air started to do flights from Edinburgh and booked for an extra week in May, great flight times, leaving Edinburgh at 7.30am. Then today they sent me an e-mail saying the flights times have been changed, not by a few hours but 8 hours! and 6 hours coming home. We dont arrive until 9.30pm!! We were going to hire a car from the airport, but now nobody wants to drive in the dark. We will be lucky if we arrive in time for a Gyros at the tasty corner ::)
We have used Ryan Air a lot over the past years for holidays and I would rather fly with them than Thomsons or Thomas Cook (more leg room and always on time) but now I am totally disgusted  :(

Where to stay / Re: Olga Apartments
« on: January 18, 2013, 07:00:49 PM »
We stayed at the Olga a few years ago and it was lovely. There are only twelve apartments, we had a pool view and I think eight of the aparments have pool views, I am sure you could request one.  Last year we popped in to see Demos, Olga and her family and we were welcomed like old friends, which was nice, a few of Demos's nector shots were drunk! Good  location and just a wee bit up the hill, with a few minutes walk to the supermarket and nearest restaurants and bars. I am sure you will have a great time.

Great news Lesley thanks for the information! Thomsons want £870 for flights only from Edinburgh for a week in May, hopefully Ryan Air are cheaper, the flights aren't on sale yet, but I will be checking everyday. ;D

Information and help please / Thomson Flights v Thomson package holiday
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:15:55 AM »
I thought we might get a week in San Stefanos in May next year to keep me going till August. So I checked out the Thomsons website.

Thomson flights for two of us from Edinburgh on the 17th May including bags etc £873.00.
A package holiday for the two of us on the same flight including bags, transfers and bed and breakfast at the Teresas £836!

Who could believe that. ::)

Thanks everyone, I will have a look at that link Lesley. They done Preswick - Corfu this summer but someone on Trip Advisor seemed to think they had cancelled for next year. We would book with Thomsons from Edinburgh but it cost £550 each without luggage etc! :o This years holiday to the Teresas for a two weeks package holiday didn't cost as much as that!!

Can anyone tell me if Ryan Air are flying to Corfu from Glasgow Preswick next summer. Or does anyone have any idea how I would find out if they are or not.
