Post by: diane13 on September 14, 2012, 06:10:22 PM
Hi  - off to San Stefanos on Monday and have been checking weather forecasts which seem to vary depending which one you look at  Most have said quite a bit of stormy weather though - does anyone know what its like at the moment?  :)

Seems like it was raining all day yesterday, and the weather forecast from The Met Office and the BBC shows rain until at least Tuesday.

Glad we got home on Wednesday!!

I went to SS the last two weeks of Sept in 2008 and had some of my worst weather there (after from 2 weeks in April when I was 12 and it rained solid for 12 of the 14 days..............!).

We had a massive thunderstorm which lasted a couple of days which hurricane winds that damaged a lot of the buildings in the village.  The Teresa (where we were staying) was hit particularly hard.   We were all huddled in the bar area watching dvd's for most of the day as it was too risky to go outside!

Hopefully you won't experience anything like that again!!

Just checked the weather for you and its raining with thunderstorms till Monday and then 27 degrees and scorching from then on with just a bit of odd cloud.

Not too shabby! :)

Well we'll be in San Stef so sure to enjoy ourselves - rain or shine.  No good complaining is it - weather is one thing we certainly can't control - bound to have some sun (aren't we???)

Diane, of course you will have a good time come rain or shine :), you will be in SS but the good news is that the weather will improve early next week and who knows the days prior to the forecasted good weather maybe good too. You are right in that you cannot control the weather but you can and will have a great time. Enjoy your holiday. :) :) :)

Just got back last night and it didn't rain all day. It rained most of the morning after raining all night on Thursday with Thunder and Lightning and was also very windy. The rain then cleared for more sunshine although the temperatures were not as high as they had been as the storm cleared the air. The locals had been estimating a storm was coming from last Tuesday onwards depending on who you spoke to. The forecast however looked as if it would be stormy until Monday.

Hopefully there will be a vast improvement by the 23rd when we get out there ! Regardless we will enjoy ourselves, having made so many friends over the years it is like returning home , and there is always an ouzo waiting to welcome you rain, shine or wind ! Monday lunchtime will see us sat at Manthos' taverna enjoying the food , view and ouzo . If you are going to be out there then I look forward to seeing you . TTFN

After a sunny but very windy Saturday, Sunday was a perfect September (27c) in Corfu & Agios Stefanos, we had drinks and a meet up with friends in the little bar (kantina) in the harbour late morning through to mid afternoon followed by a cafe up in Arillas.  The evening was mild and allowed us dinner outside.  Waking up this morning Monday to another bright blue sky, slight breeze and sunshine.

Well it's been a dispicable day weather wise in the North of England today.
Rained heavily all day and it was gloomy and darkness was setting in at 6pm!!

Winters well and truly here!

It was like that on the way to Doncaster yesterday.

Here in Ag Stef, it's warm and sunny, the sea is rippling in, and the temperature of the Mythos is perfect.

Sorry!

Another terrible day in Yorkshire today. Still very cold and wet, flood warnings in place.
Leeds at home to Everton tonight......christ knows how theyve got that game on given non stop torrential rain for 48 hours!!

On a brighter note I didnt have to go to Hull today..... that would have been grim

Not that bad here in Norfolk. Read the paper outside yesterday in a chair, and still got my shorts on. My sister in law lives in Cockermouth and she has forgotten what the sun looks like.

still got my shorts on.

Bet the neighbours are relieved!

Good shorts weather in Ag Stef today. Bright, warm sun - calm sea - tuna salad in Mango for lunch, and the  prospect of Theadora's superb moussaka for supper.

Great way to spend my birthday!

I was just going to mail you to say thanks for the vino. Bit Metaxaed out this morning, but fine now! I think!

Just to annoy the folks at home - what a fantubulously super-wonderful hot sunny day it's been. How can the sea be as calm as a blue lake? It's six pm and 32oC.

How distant the rain and windswept streets of Blighty seem as the glowing orange orb of the god Solaris descends towards the headland and the little hire boats from the beach get towed home to the harbour like ducklings following their mother. Etc.

Actually, we would have lost the quiz if I had agreed with Gillie's incorrect answer to the question "What does a liquid turn into when it boils?"

I'd say gas too.   And what a fab way to spend your birthday! Had a couple of great nights in Nafsika doing the quiz in july (and yes we won the second week!)

Yes Happy Birthday again Jim - - Don and I had a Facebook chat on the number 69 regarding you - - check it out!
Lovely weather - - I really must retire soon - - still - - going to Dalyan in less than 2 weeks for a fortnight - - but the long range weather not great for the whole 2 weeks!

I must post a correction. Gillie did agree about the answer being gas, but guessed most people would be putting "steam". I misremembered this possibly as a result of drinking too much rocket fuel!
