We will be staying at the Rose Garden Studios from 19th July for 2 weeks this year, our first visit to Corfu. I have been watching videos of the Akrotiri bar located on the headland and the views look spectacular. Can anyone please let me know the best walking route to this bar. Thanks.
-
We went up the track opposite Town Pizza. I was expecting to struggle a bit, as I've limited mobility, but found it easy enough.
Certainly worth it for the view and the Tuna Salad.
We came back down the road that exits at the juice bar, so straight into Summer Dream for a well earned Mythos!
-
Are the roads up to the headland lit on a night so that we can come back down after sunset?
-
I think the road we came down is, but the track up definitely wasn't!
-
Hi John15, we are also going for 2 weeks 19th july, you will love corfu, a beaytiful village with beautiful people
-
We are staying at the Little Prince, also from 19th July, for two weeks. We had breakfast at Akrotiri last summer. Definitely the most expensive breakfast we´ve ever had in SS, but what a lovely place. We took the road starting next to the juice bar. Must try Akrotiri at sunset this time.
-
The road by the juice bar is the shortest - especially on a quad :D
-
Walk on the Arillas road -passed the tennis court - take the first opening on the right and walk up (the tarmac road) and you're there ,It's on the left.
-
Hi outza73 were are you flying from
-
Hi Cassels. We are from Finland, so we are flying from Helsinki :D Do you travel with children? I have my teenage sons travelling with me. My elder son (16 years) is maybe the most addicted SS fan in our family :)
-
Hi outza73, there is a large group of us coming to ss , some staying for 1 week and the others 2 weeks, my boyfriends nephew is 16 and his neice 15 , they have always loved san steff, have been coming for years, It is such a lovely village and the people are so warm and welcoming .
-
Cassels, I am sure too see you around at the LP. Only two weeks to go now! 8)
-
Outza73, i know , hope the next 2 weeks fly by. What time are you due to land at corfu
-
Cassells, our plane is due to land at 10.25 am (leaving from Helsinki at 7.00). How about your flight?
-
Hi Outza73 we are due to land in corfu at 10.30 pm

I saw street lights along the headland last year....
-
They were there the year before as well I think??
-
They are 'there' but have been shot to bits. Not many working this May.
-
The word on the street is that yes they are all broken. Whether they were damaged intentionally or by the weather is up to debate.
-
Back to the old times then - torches all the way Rod..... LOL
-
What time do they serve lunch?
-
What time do they serve lunch?
Lunchtime
-
Lunchtime
Meant to say from what time is there lunchtime menu from
-
Waspman is correct.
-
Anytime Jules - he doesn't do Dinners as such, but a nice snack menu where the food is upmarket and substantual.
Well worth a visit.
-
Thanks Tony :)
-
I wouldn't miss eating there Jules - very nice specialist breads - and the views!!! wow!!
-
Had drinks there before but never anything to eat. The views are worth the effort of walking up there and will be on our agenda again.
-
I pushed McKenzie up there 3 times in the buggy. Mental but amazing
-
You are Mental but amazing???
Maybe you shouldn't advertise it..... LOL
-
Seeing as I started this topic I thought it only right to let you all know that we did venture up to the Akrotiri Bar via the road just past the Juice bar. What a climb! However, once we had got our breath back we were able to take in the magnificent views and watched the sunset with Mythos in hand. Well worth the effort. As mentioned in an earlier post - straight into Summer Dream for another welcome Mythos on returning. The lighting is hit and miss with several broken lights but as we came back down shortly after sunset there was no problem.

Certainly worth the effort, the views are well worth it.
Go up past Shane's juice bar rather than the track by the Nafsika. The track by the Nafsika is far steeper.
-
Or walk up past the Perros. Bit longer but not as steep
-
Or better still, go on a quad bike.
-
Lazy sod!!!!
-
or in a hire car - - car parking there - - - but GO!!
-
Tony is right, GO , there are some very good salads on the menu also corfiot beer , if you feel like celebrating a special event try the Champagne at 900 euros a bottle ! Yes NINE HUNDRED
-
Is this the Taverna that you get to if you walk up the hill just past Tasty Corner, oppositeish Ozzy Oils ? X
-
I go up the hill opposite Summer Dreams and past Tsaros Appts and turn left at the top
Think you can reach it the way you say , opposite Ozzy Olis
-
Best sunset views in the village too.
-
Best place for upmarket snacks... great service.... brilliant toilets...
Best views in town over two villages... great sunsets..... great bar
The place to chill at lunch....
-
Totally agree: love it.
-
Can you still get a car up to the top and to the Bar? I know my poor old knees won't allow me to walk up that darn hill :(
-
Yes. That's how they get the supplies there since all the donkeys died.
-
