Just to let all know the buses start on August 1st check out vendors within resort displaying the sign. You must have pre paid tickets before boarding the bus.
-
Tall order...Can anyone put the bus times on here so anyone could plan a journey from Agios Stefanos to Rodaor Kassiopi for example.
-
Sandra will do shortly just awaiting updates from them, also when you purcahse tickets they will let you have a route plan.
-
L, thx for explaining this last week, sounds a great idea. Good to meet u, atb. LS

Thanks LS, and thanks for your support and interest.

Had a great morning out this morning travelling around the NW coast on the Inter Resort Bus, its great not to be doing the driving for once and I actually could see the scenery for myself and get some great photos. Met some lovely people on board.
The timetable has been published now around resorts and with the tour reps I believe? If not I picked up a copy on board for information if anyone needs it.
-
Sounds a great idea Lesley let's hope it's a success hopefully for us to use next year
-
It's about time I had my first post.
The idea of the bus sounds great and we plan to use it.
I don't want to hire a car when on holiday so we have stayed in AG which is bliss but we would like to see more of the NW coast so this will be ideal.
Not long to go now.

Welcome to the forums DuncanG. When are you going and where are you staying this time?
-
Ok, we've got friends staying on the island for the first time who have booked a hotel in Roda. I've told them that they ought to try and make it across to San Stef while they're there, to firstly see what they're missing, and secondly checkout accommodation we've recommended to them to consider for next year. Is the Inter Resort Pass (which is news to me), something they could use to get to San Stef, and then back to Roda? Thanks. Meanwhile we're counting the days down to when we return on the 26th August, roll on.
-
Hi JULES T.
We fly out on 29th August for a week and we're staying at the Vicky Apartments.
It can't come quickly enough.

My understanding at the moment until further notice is the bus runs from Sidari through to St George stopping at Ag Stef and Arillas on route one minibus up one down first at 10am in Sidari and same in St George. For Roda they could catch the local bus to Sidari and then the local bus upto San Stef or a combination local bus and inter resoprt bus. The inter resort bus though requires a prepaid ticket before boarding bus. If you p.m. me I will give you the link to the operators prebookable website which also has timetable and other info.
-
Hi Lesley, thanks for this, I'm pm you for the further details. Many thanks again, 3 weeks today and we'll be heading out there, we can't wait. Cheers.
-
Hi Cambridge have sent you a p.m. all the best and enjoy your hols Lesley
-
hi all which resorts does the inter resort bus go to any one know sounds like it may be a good idea .
-
Hi Martin, it runs between the resorts of Sidari, through San Stefano (stops are Romanza and Barras) onto Arillas and St George, some vendors in resort have tickets otherwise if you check either the Thomson or Thomas Cook reps they should also have tkts, if not p.m. me and I wll give you the owners website link to book tkts. Just 5 euros a day or 15 euros per week. Lso recerntly introduced are child prices......
-
Sounds good, we have done those resorts too many times and probably won't do the bus, but it's great for anyone who hasn't, cheap excursion!!
-
Hi Lesley, can you also send me the owners website link.
-
Hi Jule sending you a pm now sorry havent been on here for a while as have relatives staying so been a bit busy plus work etc...okay pm on way in a few mins.
-
Thanks Lesley
-
Sorry this service seems to have ended prematurely! ???
Hope someone starts it up next year, as we had planned to make good use of it.
-
What a shame! I know that there was a good deal of opposition to it by some of the local taxi drivers and some people would not sell tickets as they were afraid that it was illegal. But it was a great idea!
-
Oh that's dissappointing sounded great idea wonder if there wasn't enough interest
-
Hi All, sorry havent been on for a while, family commitments and a busy time all round.....
A couple of replies to points made.......
It wasnt illegal - the man behind it was registered through a Greek tourism office (okay in another resort) but it was all running legally., Hence when the taxman stopped the bus all they could do was check out the papers and let the bus carry on running which it did for a few more days.
Yes it did probably put a few peoples nose out of joint hence the decision to stop for this summer only, but that's work in progress I understand from him for next summer, perhaps there may even be a whole network around the island in or in years to come as in other resorts within Greece and around the world. I think we will have to watch this space as they say on that one.
The whole ethos of the idea was to provide what the customer visiting the island wants. After all the guests is the most important part of any tourism community.
In the meantime there is an open letter to the PM of Greece on various forums and also a plaint (I believe that's what it is called) to the EU concening, monopolies and intimidation. We can only hope that the letter is given serious consideration and is answered.
For everyone who used the service and it was well supported, thank you. For more information on where to read the various articles probably best to pm me so I can pass on the correct information via the man's company's website.
