We have a single friend who would like to join us when we come to SS at the end of May next year.  Where would all the regulars recommend for her to stay?  Ideally somewhere pretty close to the beach (where we'll be spending most of our time), somewhere that isn't isolated and with friendly staff/guests.

He introduced us to Amaretto with Lemon juice - bit like Battenburg in a glass!

Saw Keith Mitchell at the Athens Bar one night when we were there.  He plays his 'Acoustic jukebox' where you choose from over 150 songs.  Lovely evening, a few beers and some lovely cocktails for the girls. Brilliantly looked after by the owner who looks a little like Elvis Costello! Wish I knew his name, he's a great host. Not my video, but here he is from last year - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev9I2Acx3YE

San Stefanos news and views / May 2014 flights??
« on: June 25, 2013, 04:43:24 PM »
Has anyone got any idea when the half-term flights will be out for May 2014?

We're looking to get out from Stansted/Luton on or around 23rd May for 10 days. What were flight costs for this period this year?

I'm afraid to say there were quite a lot when we were there last September.  Seems to coincide with ripening fruit and harvesting.  I also witnessed a couple of toddlers being stung on the beach too.  :(

Trying not to antagonise them is the best way, but its difficult when they're buzzing around...

A few days of hot sunny and windless days have seen some improvement to the beach width. I guess a hot July and August will continue this improvement.

As before, San Stefanos was everything we wanted it to be, it's sad to be going home, but we're already making plans for a return at the end of May 2014, and if our numbers come up, maybe sooner.

Hope all you regulars have a lovely summer.

Yammas!

Great info all, interesting about boat trips, we're hoping to take one while we're here. Are they all going from Sidari?

Jules - we're on our honeymoon in Delfino Blu! Very spoilt! Kostas explained the storms and how he's tried to protect Mango from the storms.  Hasn't put us off at all though!

Hi, first post for me. I'm sitting on my balcony looking out over the amazing San stefanos bay.  This is our 2nd visit and I wanted to post about the changes in the short 9 month gap in between our holidays.

The biggest of course is the shrinking beach. We were told there were big storms in Feb that shrank the beach to half its width overnight. Anyone got more info on that?

Also, I wanted to point out to visitors to be a bit careful when you walk beyond the Havana bar. I took a walk with my nearly 4 year old yesterday and noticed a fair amount of broken glass on the beach. Fortunately on the main beach the only thing to be wary of was the jellyfish washed up after the high winds on Tues and Wed.
