Out and About / Re: Whats new in San Stef 2009?
« on: June 07, 2009, 08:15:30 PM »
Greetings everybody from a sunny San Stefanos. Not sure what you've all been bigging up, this place is rubbish!! :D I hate the beer, I hate the sun, I hate how friendly everybody is and i'm definitely not coming back!!! :D
No i can't lie anymore. This is heaven!!!. What a friendly laid back place. I think this could be the start of a beautiful relationship!!! :D
We was at the grand opening of a new bar last night, Bar "Code" (Left out of Barras, straight across junction). It is a bit higher tempo than the rest with a DJ. Staff really friendly and something a little different for a couple more beers!!. The manager is called George (Another one!! :D).
Sounds good! We like varied entertainment in the bars; greek dancing, chill out quiet places, anywhere with a good friendly atmosphere and to have a 'livelier' option for later in the eve sounds good as well.
There seems to be alot of variety for such a small place, A bit of something for everyone. I can see how people on here say they run out of time trying to sample everything.

Internet is free in the Barras so I now have an excuse to be in the bar while the better half is getting ready :D

Hello everybody we have finally made it to San Stefanos. The weather is lovely a little cloud at lunchtime but very hot this afternoon. The beer is very cold and is going down far too quick (I hate these glasses with a hole in the bottom!! :D). The food is absolutely fantastic so far and I am expecting to resemble a horse after two weeks :D. I must admit it is totally different to what I was expecting. Much more compact but perfect. The transfer from the airport was an experience, these roads are definately not made for coaches!!. It was pretty quick though and we were the first drop (About 50 mins), Even the bags at the airport only took 10 mins to appear.
It is amazing how friendly everybody is everywhere you go.
How long are you in San Stef for? Me and my wife arrive next monday 15th for 2 weeks stay at the Teresa.
We are here for two weeks (return on the 20th but not thinking about that!!)
Just look out for the football shirt wearing cockney with the Hull hat on smoking a fag!!!! :D

Information and help please / Re: Cash point at the airport

For everybody's info there is a cash machine just as you come out from baggage reclaim. Very handy as the Thomas Bay cashpoint is a little hit & miss (Been working since we arrived but warned by the locals).

First meal of the holiday was in the Barras...tempted in by the kleftico on the special board. Superb it was too! Tonight we will be sampling the sizzling steak as you rave about it so much on here at the Little Prince...so we will keep you posted!

The entertainment is pretty low key. Silver Star , Bar 38 , Thomas Bay & 3W's generally have some live acts on. Condor has dead ones like Elvis and Ol' Blue Eyes. Thomas Bay, Condor & Bar 38 have some Quiz nights. Thomas Bay has bingo but not as you've played it before! Karaoke takes place at Condor or Thomas Bay.
Can't/Daren't speak for Sandra but I'm 58 though that is just a statistic controlled by my birth certificate and will see and make friends there with anyone from teens to eighties!
Our perfect night is to stretch our evening meal out for a few hours over a glass or two of wine then move on somewhere to enjoy a few drinks, good company and pleasant conversation.
I can sing like a dead one, Does that count? :D

booked online have phoned today and told they may come before we go if we dont have them we will have to ask at the airport i hate that would rather have them in my hand thomsons not very helpfull i dont think we are the only ones could not get through on the phone till after the 5 call but you still have to listen to a 2 min call before they tell you to ring back
Thats really bad Zoe. We have never had any problems before with tickets so if mine hadn't come yet I would be panicking. I have never had to go and pick tickets up before either. They have always been posted to me.
I hope you are sorted before Friday and don't have to get them at the airport.
I have travelled really last min many times and picked up tickets at the airport - always been Ok!!
Zoe just a thought, Have you received the Corfu guide book from Thomsons. If you have, the tickets are printed pages at the back of it.
My parents were waiting for their tickets to Egypt a couple of weeks back. They received the guide book and put it away to take with them thinking the tickets would arrive afterwards.

No not quite that bad only trainers. Now looks like i've got flippers on :D
I think the 1st 2 days in SS i may have to cover myself with a towel with just the feet sticking out or better still sit outside a taverna all day with just the feet sticking out from the shade :D

4 Days to go but have a problem. I thought i'd go fishing at the weekend and get a nice base tan in the sun. Didn't realise quite how hot it was so I now have red and white stripped belly, reddish brown legs with the brightest lillywhite feet you ever saw. It looks like i've had my feet transplanted!!! ;D
Any idea's what to do before I get the creosote out :D

Does anybody know if there are cashpoints at Corfu airport?
Thought I might get a couple of days beer tokens from there just in case the one in SS is a little iffy.

She was very Lucky and while in intensive care in Hillingdon Hospital,

Tony, do you live around there?  I live in Hillingdon....
Hi Terri welcome to the forum, yes we live on the outskirts S East part of the Borough,
Heathrow Villages, just within Harlington, and you?
Tony, We used to be next to the Red Lion but hardly ever went in!! The frequented was The Crown or King Willy in Sipson.
Yes - I never really took to the red lion either, Used the crown occasionally and The King William does great meals!!
Small world - so why did you move - the question has to be asked??
The Missus is from Hull. Met in Ayia Napa thenshe moved down for 12 years on the promise that when she got fed up I would give it all up and move North. She got fed up!!!!! ;D
I like to look at it as a stepping stone on my way to the sun, I won't have to go far it's freezing here even in the summer. Give it it's due though it tried to be Venice a couple of years ago!!! ;D
At least you kept your promise lol!!! ;)
Holiday romance to holiday butler. You can always spot me 10yards behind dragging two cases up a hill!!!! ;D
