Via a Thomson's ad link here on sanstef.co.UK we noticed SS deals are becoming quite attractive again. Curiosity got the better of us and we compared our long standing booking at the Romanza. Shock horror, a two week holiday for our travel time is now £50 cheaper than the one week price we paid weeks ago! We have now booked the additional week for a cost of £50 ( we had to pay an amendment fee of £50 PP) >:( It feels good to double our holiday period for £50 but we wonder if people are comparing their original bookings or waiting and watching the holiday markets for late ( post election?) deals?
-
Unfortunately Thomsons are known for this - but you have to take a chance and book early for a discount, we would normally wait for a sale day, then book.
sometimes - but less so these days for San Stefanos, a late booking is cheaper - (not often in SS as they know it's a captive audience going there).
It's all a bit of a gamble and Thomsons know how to work the market!
I agree though - to find it cheaper months later is really annoying!
-
I'm thinking of doing this too! It's not much more to add on the extra week at Barras and the thought of TWO WHOLE WEEKS in Greece is just too good to be true!!
And I wouldn't have thought of looking into it without this post so thank you very much! I think I would have a permanent massive smile on my face for the next 11 weeks counting down if I were going for two weeks instead of one! ;D
-
You can actually deal with the hotels and apartments yourself and save even more money.....
-
We always have 2 weeks, the cost of the flight is always the most expensive bit per head, so for a little bit more.
-
I've booked my second week this morning YIPPEEEEEE!! It went down cheaper for 2 weeks than for 1 so just paid an admin fee of £35 per person. £70 for a whole extra week!
I've never done 2 weeks abroad before I'm so excited! I can't wait to find out how wonderful San Stefanos is! ;D
Thank you so much Sellsy for posting about this otherwise I would never have known it was possible!
Roll on 17 August!! ;D

Last year our Thomas Cook holiday was the same price for two weeks as for one!
That was booking in September 2010 for the following May/June.

Hi Georgie Glad you got sorted with your second week! It does seem like a bargain at £70 for two. Of course if we hadn't booked so early,( and booked the two weeks now ) we would have had the same holidays without our respective £100 and £70 fees! However we would have missed out on the build up and contentment you get when the booking is made. So I'm in Tony's camp with this one, we have indeed become BOGOF champions! We now arrive at the Romanza on 20th August , we will watch out for you guys when we are near the Barras.
-
Hi Sellsy, we also arrive at the Romanza on the 20th August :D
Flying from Birmingham so will arrive early afternoon, third year at Romanza.
-
Nice one BAJ, we travel from Newcastle, arrive afternoon also.In my minds eye I will be sitting around the pool having a few ice cold beers the first afternoon. However my wife's minds eye sees me checking out the prices in shops and supermarkets! I'll let you know where the bargains are when I get back!

Hi Sellsy,
Yes that's true about booking now without the extra admin fee, but seeing as I've got a whole extra week I didn't think I'd get I certainly won't be crying over £70!! Nothing could bring me down from my excitement over 2 weeks!! Loving the BOGOF!! Yes look out for us at Barras, nice to know a few people on here are going the same time as us. 77 days to go! :D

Wish I could go for the extra week but cant get the extra time off work! Me and my partner (will be my husband then, getting married 15th august) fly in from Newcastle on the 20th August, staying at the Romanza :D VERY excited, it will be our first time in San Stefanos, although we have been to Arillas the last 3 years in a row.
Hope to bump into some of you on our trip!
