Title: Hotel Room Safety boxes
Post by: Splutface on May 11, 2011, 03:14:48 PM
Do hotels and apartments in San Stefanos generally have room safes? These are now very common in the UK and Italy, but haven't been to anywhere in Greece for some years, so this may be a stupid question to ask!

Little Prince - all rooms. Small charge.

San Stef is a pretty safe place anyway.

You can always rent a safety deposit box @ Stan Stef Travel.

We stay at Olgas which don't supply them. Kappa/Sidari Travel a couple of mins walk away offer rent-free boxes. Been doing it for 3 years now and it's hassle free.

We used San Stef Travel last year, and that was fine.
But now that they've moved down to the beach area, loftyscot's
suggestion may be handier, as we're in the Vicky apartments.

We always use Kappa/Sidari Travel though we stay at Maria's where there aren't any boxes.

Echo all re travel agencies having the facility for your use, if not provided at your receptions or in rooms.  Anyone staying at Kapetanios there are boxes now fitted into rooms for a small weekly charge.

Hi Don

This will be our second time to San Stefanos and we will be staying at Maria's.

Please could you tell me where Kappa/Sidari Travel is located as we may need a safety deposit box.

Thanks

As a general rule, most places do not have a safety box in the room itself, but many are now upgrading to that, as above mentioned.
Thomas Bay Hotel and Athina Hotel have boxes in the lobby area, both travel agencies mentioned supply free boxes, (as they hope to change your currency there), San Stefanos is pretty much crime free anyway, but use a box for peace of mind, Passports etc are difficult to replace.

Actually, San Stef Travel charged around 7 euros per week last year.
We'll try the other travel agency this year as it's closer to the Vicky.

Mythos Apartments had them in their rooms last year, free of charge.

We had a box free, but we had booked Theodosia, so maybe it's changed or just given with a booking??
