The season is well underway and genuine feedback will soon be upon us, however, if you had the chance to pre order your first evening meal( its only a make believe so items and venues can move around like magic!) what would your perfect 3 course meal contain? :P
For me
Starters...........Saganaki ......... good in most tavernas around town
Mains.............. Kleftico........... was outstanding at the Romanza a while back
Puds............... Creme Brulee.... from Mythica ( sadly not open this time around )
All served at the cliff top Romanza restaurant, with half price cocktails from the 3w's! and the Nafsika wine list as back up!
Can anyone beat that?
-
As we won't arrive until around midnight it will be Pia Gyros for me and Pita Souvlake for my better half. Big problem, Tasty Corner or Yanni's? Both superb..
-
Starter - Saganaki or Cheese Pies
Main - Katys Kokkinisto from the Romanza
Dessert - Would have to be a Baklava
Again, agree with Sellsy.....no better location than the spectacular sunset at the Romanza and Andreas & Dimitris looking after you!
-
A drink at the bar at the Perros for staters....or at Bar 38
Starter......Normally a main and dessert is more than enough, but possibly Gemista (stuffed tomatoes/peppers)
Main.........Kleftico at the Barras (still the best we've had anywhere in Greece - in our opinion)
Dessert.....Baklava
Followed by a stagger across the road for a few drinkies at Silver Star (especially if Jerry is on)...or a saunter down the road to see Nikos for an Ouzo or five at the Athens bar.
Finish the night with an Ouzo or Metaxa back at the Perros mmmm :)
-
Spicy cream cheese to start
Chicken Souvlaki & Rice for main
Any very chocolatey icecream for afters
All washed down with a bottle of Retsina and followed by several ouzos and Mythos in Athens bar.
-
For me the starter would have to be Onasis at Olympia followed by Kleftico at Zorbas and cheescake at Ozzy Oils followed by ouzo at Bar 38 and a few at Teresa to finish off.
-
Starter - hard one, too many to choose from - that's why we often make a meze from a selection of starters instead of having a large main meal!
Main course - Bom Bom Lamb - Little Prince
Dessert- don't bother - have had too many carafes of wine by then, although I'm sure it evaporates in the heat.
-
Starter Prawn Saganaki Ozzy Oil
Mains either Calves Liver or Stamna both from Nafsica
Dessert Baklava made by George at the Nafsica
washed down with plenty of greek white wine and a Brandy Alexandra made with ice cream
-
We like to start with local Tzatziki and Taramosalata
Mains has to be Kleftico
Creme Caramel
Ouzo or Greek Brandy to finish it!
Eaten in many establishments - it's great - -and difficult to choose which is best!!
but another night - it's off to the Beachcomber Bistro or Ozzie Oils for a truly wonderful but different meal choice!
-
First supper will be at the Sun-set, great food
Starter Onasis or Kalimari
Main Lamb Kleftico
Dessert Apple Pie
Followed by a coffee and a large Brandy
-
I will be spending the first evening at the Romanza.
Starter Spetsofi
Main Course Krassattes
Sweet Mielfig
All washed down with the odd carafe of white wine.
2nd evening will be spent at Ossie Oils with friends who are already in San Stefanos.Menu still under discussion.

The first supper for me would be:
Starter: tzatziki and taramosalata
Main course: stifado
To drink: Retsina
Dessert: Retsina ;)
Wow, my five-week-holiday begins tomorrow and only one week to go for SS 8)
+12c in Finland at the moment, so I am counting hours already...

I've just re-read through this string and I could go with all the choices.
I forgot the Sunset - we have had some brilliant meals there before,
but I think we will also call in to the Romanza one night as we have never eaten there before.
I expect Yannis will be on the corner holding up an ad-board with an arrow pointing the way!! LOL
-
Tony, you wont be disappointed with the Romanza food. We do about half of our evenings there as we stay there and the other half have tried most of the restaurants and tavernas in the village. To be honest though Katies cooking at the Romanza takes some beating. Great views whilst eating.

Going to try Beef Stifado first this year. I made this dish at home last night for a visit from friends and want to compare the taste to see how authentic I made it :)
-
I had the pleasure of trying rabbit stifado on my recent visit. This I am told is the original stifado & was very enjoyable.

Not sure if I would like rabbit.
I was of the same opinion before trying it.I really enjoyed it and believe it has a similar taste to chicken.

We had garlic mussels, then pork chop and kleftico, lovely in LP.
Last night, at Fantasea with Don and Sandra, we had taramasalata followed by chicken souvlaki and Don had, cheese saganaki then moussaka and pastitso.
Food in the Fantasea is fantastic. Washed down with two carafes of house white.
