Has anyone done either of the cruises to Corfu Town (Day or evening)? What were they like? Do they pick you up at the hotels or do you have to make your own way to the harbour (And back, in the dark :o)?

No - but the trip to Mathraki and Othoni is nice. Goes from the harbour. Noula or one of the girls from SS Travel will take you down by car and bring you back for 2 Euros.

Would say as its a long way by boat from Ag Stef to Corfu town perhaps the local ones closer by would be more suitable. I have done Corfu Town by boat but it was from the NE corner from Kassiopi. Also available I believe was from Sidari by coach/bus then upto Kassiopi on the boat and back and bus again, long day but was lovely and always depending on sea conditions. I have known others that did the trip one way from Kassiopi but then due to winds came back overland. As Ag Stef is in NW corner perhaps the Diapontian islands (Mantahraki, Othoni and Ericoussa) or Paleocastritsa would be more easier from Ag Stef. And are stunning. Corfu Town would be quicker by coach trip and evenings are better less heat and less traffic. Am sure Noula at San Stef travel will be able to provide you with the daily events.

As Jimbo has already posted the trip to Mathraki and Othoni is very good.
You sail from the harbour in SS and then sail between the uninhabited islands of Diaplos and Yakapus, then on to Mathraki. After a short while in Mathraki you then set sail for Othoni, but first stopping off for a swim from the boat in a small cove. The stop in Othoni is about 3 hours (several taverna are there) before retuning to San Stefanos at about 5.0pm.

How big are the boats? I'm not great in little motor boats, but Ok on the ones that are big enough to walk around on? And do they have a loo (For when it turns out I'm not great on bigger boats either :P )

Adequate sized boat. Not the Queen Mary. Nice loos. Two decks. Maybe 50-60 feet long. Powerful engines.

Great-that's the sort I can NOT feel poorly on! Perhaps we could do that one-we were going to do Paleo by boat 2 years ago and it got cancelled twice due to shocking weather-apparently we had the first rain in 4 months-unfortunateky we got it for pretty much the whole week! We've definitely decided on Paleo by coach this time and maybe Corfu Town again. Thanks everyone for the help

despite me being on honeymoon with the wife i managed to pull on my last boat trip. The only problem was............it was a gay bloke from Macclesfield!! I still get ribbed about it by the wife.

Gavlah, my hubby had a similar experience last time we were in SS at the Condor bar. A transvestite[not an act] took a real shine to him[hubby not amused] although myself and the couple we were with were in hysterics. After this the couple put hubby's name forward for kareoke[spelling?] and it was ' Lola', fair play to hubby, he gave it his best shot!
