If you come out of the Stamatis, down the driveway, turn left  there is an empty unit, Yianni's grill and then Kappa travel. They have free safety deposit boxes. We always use them.

The Doctor has moved - I believe the Surgery is now somewhere behind the jewellery & bag shops across from the Condor. I'm sure it'll be sign posted.

Yes to confirm, the Dr.'s Surgery is in Stefanos's (of the Condor), Back Garden, entrance is to the left side of the Bag & Jewelery shop almost opposite the Condor. Look out for the 3 Kittens running around!

We saw those kittens, they were absolutely adorable.  My friend wanted to put one in her handbag.  They were sooooooo tiny.

Saw the little cuties! I went up to see them and left some food - at the request of a friend who was here on holiday! She asked if there was someone or somewhere that'd take them in and care for them .... but alas- no! I would've taken them but Nikos and I have been rescuing kittens for the last few years and just can't take anymore. We have many - we love then all! Fortunately we have a fair bit of land with our house and its away from the main road which keeps them safe. Nikos would love to start a Cat/Animal Sanctuary/rescue place but its the costs of running it as well as finding the right location and building. You must go and chat to him at the Barras when you get here!

Sorry. this has absolutely nothing to do with Safety Deposit Boxes - we really do get off the point sometimes!! ::)

I really don't mind this being off topic - I love kittens and I hope Nikos dream may come true one day.

The adult cats are tiny and you may think they are youngsters as well. We have seen lots of adult cats but not very often with the kittens. Sometimes it seems they are left to fend for themselves.

We were put off the Doctors in Arillas last year just purely based on what a well known village person told us.

Sorry, I have to disagree!!
I had an accident in my garden last year and had to crawl back into the house to wait for Nikos to come home from work that night ( there was no phone signal so couldn't phone him - or the Dr for that matter). Next day I was taken to Dr Iannis & Dr Tanya in Arillas. They were efficient and thorough, strapped me up and sent me for an x-ray which I had done in Acharavi. I had to hop through to the office of the person who did the x-rays to be told there was no fracture. I knew it was broken! I saw the x-rays and could see breaks (x 2). She insisted no breaks.I had to say to her I was a nurse back in UK and had a special interest in all things Orthopaedic - and that I could see 2 broken bones which were clean breaks luckily. Still she insisted they were not fractures but just a scratch on the bone!!
I went back to Arillas - Dr Tanya looked at the x-rays and said immediately I had fractures and basically I had to have a plaster cast on. I saw the Drs several times over the next couple of months - and they were excellent. I am one of the worst patients you could ever come across as I'm not used to being on the receiving end, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I guess though different people have different experiences! :-\

Hi Jules
I also agree with Gwen, Linda received treatment from Dr Iannis from Arillas some years ago -
better than most of the GP's back home in fact - very professional and caring!
He diagnosed Linda's Heart problem before any other Doctor - long story!!
I can recommend him and all Corfu Doctors I have come across over the years!
Don't listen to people who haven't used these Doctors - I have the utmost respect for them!!

Absolutely Tony - they were also very good in treating friends of mine - and Nikos for that matter a couple of years ago. Can't fault them. No-one wants to be sick or injured when on holiday, but its good to know we have great Drs on hand if needed.

On the Drs thing I was just going on what we were told by someone else from the village and not from actual experience. I am glad therefore to know that they are recommended if we do require any treatment or help.

Mike - are they free to anyone? or just their apartments?
What's the catch there - if any - or are they just brilliant people?

Jules - take my word for it - great Doctors who will visit you quickly if you are taken ill!
You don't need to travel to them unless its minor stuff!
Like everything in life - someone's bound to not like one Doctor for some obscure reason!

There is no safety deposit boxes at the olga. You can get a free box at the travel shop opposite the condor bar,Not sure of name but we used them last year and they are ok. Also I think San Stef travel at the T junction do free boxes aswell.
